DIFFERENTIATION IS KEY I have been traveling a lot, and hotels have become a mere commodity for me. There are thousands, and all seem more or less the same. Differentiation seems hard in this sector. However, this week, one hotel truly surprised me. I asked myself, how did it achieve to completely enchant me as a customer (I am not easy to please😉) and differentiate itself from the mass? I can tell you it was not the location nor the price. What was it then? 👍 Employee Engagement: The staff “owned” the place and took pride in working there. 👍 Customer First: Everyone made us feel like a friend in their own home. 👍 Branding: The logo was seen in paintings, sculptures, and even the handmade soap had the colors and logo in it. 👍 Entertainment: Beyond the TV, the rooms were full of family games and books to read. The walls resembled a gallery. There was a sauna, a fireplace, and swings. 👍 Supporting the Local Community: Food, soaps, lotions, and paintings were locally sourced. We even found books by local authors about the fascinating history of the area. 👍 The Extra Mile: You could tell that maximizing profit was not a priority. Fruits, cookies, and refreshments were complimentary, and the staff took the time to tell us stories about the place and things to do. Every detail made the difference. It blew me away. No wonder this place is already taking reservations for 2027. Have you ever had a great customer experience?
