There is little I love more than the FIFA World Cup, I also respect a lot what the Saudi support for sport is doing. However this is not a sponsorship I think is timely when there is such a big pressure to reduce reliance on fossil fuels due to the urgency of global warming which is mainly caused by burning oil. FIFA can you reconsider this in your capacity as keepers of the beautiful game?At least until there is technology in place to make burning oil safer for the environment and climate?
I am racking my brain to think of a commercial partnership more tin-eared, short-sighted and self-destructive than this. Genuinely impressive from FIFA!
