Ever worked in a place that drained your soul? 🤔 I have. And let me tell you... "In a restaurant, a smile is the most important ingredient in the recipe for success." Restaurants are tough workplaces. 🥵 Long hours, high pressure, and little room for error. But it doesn't have to be that way. 🚫 Focus on taking care of your people: 1. Model the respectful behavior you expect to see. 2. Teach as if a secret could be lost if you don't 3. Celebrate even the small wins. 🎉 You know its tough work. Make the tough a positive experience and watch the results. 🍲 A smile can make all the difference. I'm Simon Zatyrka I help leaders be the ones everyone wants to work with. If you're sure "there's got to be a better way to do this" follow me ring the bell 🔔( you'll get all the new stuff) and drop me a DM so we can work together on making your place an employer of choice. #chef #culture #leadership #restaurants P.S. please repost for your network ♻️

My combined experience of working in customer service, hospitality and the food industry extends well over 10 years. In my recent reflection I realized the common denominator in all of these fields are PEOPLE. Directly interacting with, working with, serving and caring for people. Thankfully, I am naturally a people person so by default I am a relational leader who understands it's the people who matter. I never wanted anyone of my employees to feel like they were the "bottom line" or just another number on a report. The dishwasher is just as vital as the lead cook in the kitchen, the CSR is just as important as the manager, so on and so forth. Without the "bottom line" there is nothing for those at the top to manage and run. Whether on the side of business or consumer the fact is without people there is no business. So we must value people beyond words in a mission & value statement. It needs to be exemplified throughout corporate leadership & the systems they put in place and all throughout the company. When employees feel valued retention soars. When customers feel valued beyond the dollar you want from them loyalty becomes second nature. #peoplematter

A little over a year ago, I embarked on a transformative journey with The Chef Agency, starting as a regional associate and later ascending to the role of Regional Partner. Throughout this remarkable experience, my purpose has been to not only assist my colleagues, friends, family, and fellow leaders in the Food & Beverage industry but to elevate them by connecting them with the finest talent and unparalleled career opportunities available. In every step of this journey, my unwavering commitment to quality, value creation, and DISCIPLINE has been the guiding force. These principles, cultivated in the kitchen, have seamlessly translated into the realm of recruiting, propelling me forward. The flame of rigor and dedication to high standards continues to burn brightly within me, fostered by a team operating at the same exceptional level or beyond. We don't merely fill positions; we seek out and recruit industry leaders for the most distinguished companies in the field. Over the course of my career in retail store operations, field leadership, and learning and development, I’ve been able to travel to many different places for work, leaving just three states in the U.S. that I had yet to visit: Alaska, Iowa, and New Mexico. My trip in July not only checked off one of those states, Alaska, but it also added another area of North America I’ve yet to explore: British Columbia. As a self-confessed foodie, I always seek out great restaurants when traveling and, if possible, the opportunity to meet the chef while I enjoy their food. While in Vancouver, we enjoyed a spectacular experience at celebrated restaurant Viji’s Bib Gourmand. During our time at the restaurant, we met and talked with Chef Vikram’s entire staff. He explained that it was important to him that we met all of them because everyone contributes to the success of the customer experience. They were all highly engaged and authentic; nothing was for show. Having spent a large part of my life and career developing leadership training to create this type of culture in retail organizations, it made a huge impression on me. I was struck by how humble and appreciative he was for his restaurant team and where he is today. One sign of just how powerful his restaurant’s culture is: Most of his team have worked with him for over 20 years! The parallels to retail are evident: Treat your team well, empower them with skills and confidence, and instill in them a sense of ownership and pride, and they will ensure your customers are well taken care of. It’s the employee-customer profit service chain that I have followed my entire career. When you engage and empower people, they will deliver their best work for your customers. And they (and your customers) will stay with you for the long haul. How are you creating a culture of trust and respect? #LearnMOHR #Retail #LeadershipTips

Please follow our QSR Recruiting Page for great QSR Career Options I have to say, I have been very lucky to participate in three "QSR Rocketships," (Old school West Coast Carl's Jr., and two Taco Bell experiences), and everything that I see, hear, and witness with this QSR Group points towards great people, great culture, and great achievements. I can't say that I know every factor that creates these QSR Rocketships, but there were always two common threads. One thread was high levels of alignment between the employees and organizational leaders. The other was that the main focus was growth and building sales. Focus on top-line sales and use systems to flow those incremental dollars to the bottom line. I remember Taco Bell Corporate in the early 90's as we approached 3000 restaurants. John Martin rolls out the first real Value Menu, as well as a Harley Davidson on to the stage in Vegas, and sets a goal for 50,000 points of distribution (PODs). I was a young RGM (TMU) and given tons of responsibility. I helped put the first Taco Bells in the Las Vegas Airport, at San Diego State University, and inside of multiple gas stations (unheard of at that time). Also, putting Taco Bell in schools with Tim and Todd B. We converted one of my bells into a factory delivering to 60 plus schools on a daily basis, and opening up Taco Bells like crazy in Southern California. Such exciting times, tons of autonomy and responsibility, and a feeling of unity. Great times.... Come join a winning team and build great memories and awesome experiences. #servantleaders #love #people #qsr #areacoach #generalmanager
Every time I meet another Senior Leader of this incredible QSR Group, another piece of the puzzle falls into place as to why this QSR Group has a reputation for great CULTURE. They put their people first, they set them up for success, and they support them through the victories and the challenges. I see it in through the many QSR Leaders I have placed with them. They create an environment which ENABLEs great leaders to succeed. Finally, they recognize and celebrate their people's wins in a big way! Unbelievable opportunity to get on board with a QSR Group "Rocketship" getting ready for blastoff. It's Taco Tuesday! Just a little analogy.....a Taco represents an entire organization or company. It has an outer shell, but filled with many different ingredients. Those ingredients are different and work different roles. If you want the best first bite, you have to have all the ingredients spread out throughout the Taco (in otherwords-fairness). They can't all be in the middle, if they where, it would not balance the distribution of flavor. The shell rather hard or soft represents the Leadership team. Nothing like having a cracked shell, broken shell or a soggy shell, it ruins the entire Taco. Many times #bullieswithsuitsandskirtson are a part of this shell. They are seen as the first line of defense for any organization. Therefore the shell has to be strong, kind, and compassionate. How the shell is, makes up for a good workplace environment because there is cohesiveness on the inside. The ingredients make up for the employees and team members. The moral of this story is....Everyone has different roles and should work together, for an effective outcome. Therefore, everyone wins. #unmuted2voice

Chief Happiness Officer, CEO & President at Happy Joe’s Pizza | CEO & President at Tony Sacco’s Coal Oven Kitchen | Food Service Expert with a Passion for Guest Satisfaction
I love seeing stories of transformational leaders in the restaurant industry using their passion and drive to inspire and uplift their teams. When leaders are detail-focused and look at customer satisfaction as an evolving process rather than a static formula, then they have the capability to allow their passion to drive business results. #RestaurantLeadership #RestaurantIndustry #ServantLeadership
