🌍 FEST Auto Technology: Blending Global Vision with Local Adaptation 🏙️ At FEST Auto Technology, we pride ourselves on our global presence, but our true strength lies in understanding and adapting to local nuances. Our electric light commercial vehicles (e-LCVs) aren't just designed for the global market; they are tailored to meet the unique needs of each community we serve. 🔍 Case in Point: Our Breakthrough in France Recently, in France, our e-LCVs have made a substantial impact. They massively reduced their carbon footprint while increasing delivery speed and reliability, proving that our vehicles are not only environmentally friendly but also adept at enhancing operational efficiency. This success story is a testament to our commitment to local adaptation. By understanding the specific challenges and requirements of Paris, we customized our e-LCV solutions, ensuring they were the perfect fit for LAJ Transports urban logistics needs. 📈 Global Reach, Local Impact Our journey across various regions has taught us that success lies in balancing global scalability with local relevancy. As we continue to expand, our focus remains on being a globally recognized brand that deeply resonates at a local level. ➡️ Your Thoughts? Earlier this week, we organized the first webinar in our series "Better Mobility Starts in Cities" at Eurocities, where we posed the question, "Is it time to put cars on a diet?" Among the recommendations formulated for the next EU mobility policy agenda, cities have emphasized the need for increased action from EU authorities regarding the ever-expanding size of cars. There are numerous policy avenues at the EU level that could be pursued to address this trend: consumer information initiatives, energy efficiency thresholds, EU industrial policy adjustments, or even size limits for new vehicles. This is just the beginning of the conversation but we truly hope that the upcoming mandate of EU institutions will present opportunities to support the development of a car market more aligned with cities' aspirations. #UrbanMobility #PublicSpace #RoadSafety #Climate #Cities
📈 Cars in Europe are getting bigger. Today around 50% of the new vehicles sold in Europe are SUVs while only 22% are small cars. 🚗 It’s time to put cars on a diet! Larger cars put an extra strain on cities’ infrastructure. In the first of our webinars series 'A better mobility starts in cities', Guilloux Tristan, Director of the Mobility Agency at Ville de Paris highlighted the importance of rebalancing the allocation of public space between pedestrians, bikes, shared modes, and green vegetation. 🌿 With the next political cycle on the way, the ever-growing dimensions of cars must be curbed to ensure that vehicles being sold in the European market are compatible with cities’ aspirations for light, shared, and zero-emission mobility. A big thanks to all the experts on the panel, including Isabel Verwee, Jens Müller, Jean André Barbosa, Mark Nicklas, and Guilloux Tristan, for their contributions to the discussion. 🌍 Today, I had a firsthand experience of the pros and cons of intermodular mobility, a concept I firmly believe is crucial for the transformation of our mobility. Intermodular mobility is all about seamlessly integrating various modes of transport - from line services and on-demand offerings like sharing concepts to personal vehicles like cars or bikes. 🚗 My journey to Kassel today was a real-life example of the challenges and triumphs of this system. I faced an unexpected setback when my pre-booked taxi through Freenow disappeared from the app, leaving me stranded outside Ingolstadt. Thankfully, my wife came to the rescue, but it highlighted a key issue: reliability. 🚄 Once on the train, however, the experience was near perfect. The train was punctual, and with a travel time of under 3 hours from Ingolstadt to Kassel, it was unbeatable compared to driving. Not to mention, it gave me the opportunity to write this LinkedIn post! The only hitch was the spotty network at 250 km/h, which disrupted my plan to make phone calls. 🤔 For me, this journey underlined the importance of reliability and swift, comprehensive support when there’s a glitch in the mobility chain. It's not just about speed; it's the assurance of not being left stranded and arriving on time that makes intermodular solutions appealing. 💬 What about you? Why do you use (or not use) intermodular mobility solutions? #Mobility #SustainableTransport #IntermodularMobility #SmartMobility #FutureofMobility #cassmm Image Source: https://lnkd.in/d4H6jPS7

Via FT (£): Electric cars are not the future https://on.ft.com/491h3bM Highlights that shared mobility / micromobility could render the EV debate meaningless, as cost pressures reduce appeal of any kind of car ownership, EV or not. On similar lines to Bolt’s recent analysis with Dr. Andreas Nienhaus’ team at the Oliver Wyman Mobility Forum, which showed growing cost advantages from shared mobility vs the running costs of cars in cities like Berlin. These benefits are now opening up to more and more people, as cars are being driven far less on average each year. Exciting times for our sector and the city transport systems it supports! ”How will our planet accommodate the mobility needs of 8 billion people?” There are 4 game changings for innovations which create a new case for mobility: Connectivity, Autonomy, Sharing and Electrical. Could the solution be Intermodality? Absolutely, Intermodality could be the 5th game changer. We will be able to combine everything. From point A to point B ride by train, then by electric car, or a portion by bus and then by bike etc. all accessible for a few pre-paid clicks. MAAS (Mobility as a Service). For an optimized journey that is fast, simple and green, we will use several means of transport one after the other, like links in a chain.
