Well it’s officially summer , you can tell it by the thermometer and the number of people heading to the pool, or beach or freezer section. It’s also #nationalsafetymonth and the focus of this week is risk reduction. Though there are several levels of risk control, we know the best is elimination as it’s identified as a risk. Google the hierarchy of controls if you didn’t know or have that as a tattoo. 🤓 That said, it takes an engaged workforce to also reduce risks. They feel empowered and become engaged when they see their leaders care and are also holding everyone accountable. The role of Supervision is so important and can make or break your progress in safety culture. Ensure your Supervisors are on board in this voyage to safety excellence. If not , get them there . Other than that , don’t forget your sunscreen and 🕶️. Have a good rest of your weekend. #safety #nsc

Here an example of the importance to conduct risk assessments. It is not just a protocol; it is important to have a multidisciplinary team and dedicate enough time to evaluate all present risks in a machine or process. It can be a huge difference and prevent a lot of big impacts for employees.
