In 2002, despite the rumours, #Ferrari decides to take part in the first race of the season with the #F2001, as they are trying to solve some reliability problems on the new car. The other teams and drivers criticise this choice saying that they won't be as competitive as they hope to be. 🏆 However, on Sunday Ferrari proves everyone wrong: Michael #Schumacher wins the race. He crosses the finish line completely alone, eighteen seconds ahead of Juan Pablo Montoya, second, and twenty-five seconds ahead of Kimi Raikkonen, third and on his first podium in #Formula1. It is clear that the Maranello team's decision was the right one. It remains to see when they will take the #F2002 to the track and if their rivals will improve and fight with them for the title. 💡 The Formula 1 season may have come to a close, but this is where commercial partnerships discussions are most important ahead of a new season. 🇮🇹 One big partner missing for the 2024 season will be that of Alfa Romeo. Sauber Group will now run under a new name for two seasons for the first time in 6 years, before AUDI AG enter as a works team in 2026. 🇨🇭 Alessandro Alunni Bravi has stated there will be no Audi name or branding for the time-being. So where does that leave Sauber commercially for the next 2 years? Bravi has stated that the team name is pending a foreign commercial partnership, so there is likely going to be a new major commercial player in town for 2024 and 2025. 🇩🇪 As for Audi entering in 2026, it is going to be fascinating to see how a major automotive manufacturer can break into the sport and look to compete against the likes of Alpine, Aston Martin F1 Team, Scuderia Ferrari, McLaren Racing and Mercedes-AMG PETRONAS Formula One Team as OEM’s. 🔁 Perhaps a new team name and some fresh ideas will settle the ship after a disappointing season, scoring 16 points and finishing in the bottom 2 for the second time in 3 seasons. A race car for "gentlemen drivers", love it. Really interesting to see how manufacturers/brands are pushing the limits in terms of accessible performance and marketing product like this with house/mansion worthy price tags 😅 But how confident can they be in this selling and what makes it work? Let me explain... Over a year ago I supported the launch of a high price tag Motorcycle with Crescent Motorcycle Company Ltd, the risk was high with the large price tag, but we were so clear on the buyer that sell out was expected. We sold out in 24 hours... now this is a business built on 75 years of learning about their customer, it made coming up with the marketing and pre order process easy. In conclusion, risk is minimised the more you know your customer and what gets them buying. Ask yourself, how well do you truly know your customer? Are you building your offering and marketing around your needs? Or the needs of your customer? 👀

Alpine f1 officially on sale? Occasion or not? As many of you know, at the beginning of the year, Andretti (with the Cadillac engine) was refused a Formula 1 contract at the beginning of 2024. But now a new opportunity seems to have opened up for the American team. In fact, after questionable management choices, the comings and goings of Team Princial and a car that is the slowest, Renault's decision to sell the team now seems only a matter of time (Alpine is still owned by Renault). So you'll think there's no problem for a potential buyer... But this is not the case. In fact, as reported by motorsport.com, among the team's sale clauses there would be the obligation to continue using the French engines until 2029 which are currently far below their rivals from Ferrari, RBPT and Mercedes. Classic - the 1967 Alfa Romeo 33 Stradale! Following up the Alfa Romeo Tipo 33 race car from the year before, Alfa Romeo decided to take all that performance and put it in a road car. The 33 Stradale was born. Considered by many to be one of the finest and most balanced cars every built, especially for the time. Sporting a 2.0L V8 producing 251hp, with the power routed to the rear wheels via a 6-Speed Speed manual gearbox. It has a 6 second 0-60mph and an advertised top speed of 160mph (though German magazine Auto, Motor und Sport got 156.6mph in their test). Only 18 were made in total, however 5 of them were used to create concept cars from Italian coachbuilders over the years: Italdesign's Alfa Romeo Iguana designed by Giorgetto Giugiaro. Pininfarina's 1968 Alfa Romeo P33 Roadster, 1969 Alfa Romeo 33/2 Coupe Speciale and 1971 Alfa Romeo Cuneo (built in the same chassis as the P33 Roadster).
