How I would've loved to have access to technology like this while I was broking (that makes me sound older than I am!) This #WSJ article states that “tech-inspired, consumer-centric, buzzy optimism mixes badly with an industry in which attempts to grow fast and appeal to cool customers fail, because it brings in the riskiest clients." At Hypotenuse, we agree … kind of. While it’s true that tech should not drive business goals and “cool” generates adverse selection, insurers eschew being consumer-centric at their own peril. The smart insurers we work with are successful because they mix sound underwriting and data with customer-centric #marketing efforts, which allows them to engage the right risks and price correctly.
