In the below video, ATAK video feeds & PLI information are automatically routed from a connected MANET capable radio to cellular (and back) with zero user interaction. Note that the device is in airplane mode initially. When airplane mode is turned off, the device automatically switches from MANET to cellular. Just set it and forget it, and guarantee your kill chain. This is redundancy. This is resiliency for contested communications environments. 😎🙌 Anduril Industries is teaming up with Microsoft to breathe new life into the US Army’s troubled Integrated Visual Augmentation System program. Under the partnership, Anduril will integrate its Lattice open software platform into the revolutionary goggles to enable operators to see threats faster across the battlespace. “It’s one of the Army’s most critical programs being fielded in the near future,” Anduril founder Palmer Luckey said, referring to the IVAS. The Army is exploring the application of as-a-service models to edge computing, following successful pilot efforts for SATCOM-as-a-managed-service and the initiation of a radio-as-a-service pilot. These models offer flexibility, cost-efficiency, and rapid deployment capabilities. Mark Kitz, program executive officer for command, control, and communications-tactical, highlighted the potential of compute-as-a-service, aiming for the best, fastest, and smallest compute solutions by 2025-2026.
