Periods remain taboo in sport. Athletes trial contraceptives to manage their period around competition times. Then they experience side effects, and lose their focus. “I have PTSD, I’m always tired, I don’t feel like myself.” Periods, should be one less thing to worry about. Athletes need to be in their best physical and mental condition to compete. And, they need to have access to functional and safer menstrual products. We are on this mission, manufacturing discreet and innovative period-proof sportswear at MAS Holdings, enabling leading brands around the world take our products to market, and to athletes. From track to pool, we stand with every athlete, breaking taboos and redefining what it means to be unstoppable. Together, we are #ChangingTheGame, ensuring no athlete is held back by their period. #femography #periodhealth #womeninsport Sanjaya Pilimatalauwe Kavita Fernando

A new trend in breast augmentation is emerging, particularly for active women: the internal sports bra. This procedure is designed to provide more support and stability during physical activities, offering a solution for women who lead an active lifestyle but want the benefits of breast augmentation without sacrificing comfort. The internal sports bra involves the use of an internal structure that mimics the support of a traditional sports bra, providing additional lift and reducing movement during workouts or other strenuous activities. This procedure is gaining popularity among fitness enthusiasts who want to maintain both their physical activity and their aesthetic preferences. Unlike traditional breast augmentation, which may result in discomfort during high-impact activities, the internal sports bra helps women feel more confident and comfortable in their movement. It's a more functional approach to augmentation, addressing concerns about breast movement during exercise while still achieving the desired enhancement. As more women seek procedures that fit their active lifestyles, innovations like the internal sports bra are reshaping the conversation around breast augmentation. It offers a balance of aesthetics and practicality, appealing to women who prioritize both their appearance and their performance in sports or fitness routines. This growing trend reflects a broader demand for cosmetic procedures that cater to the evolving needs of modern, active women. #BreastAugmentation #InternalSportsBra #ActiveWomen #CosmeticSurgery #FitnessAndAesthetics

When laughing at women became a TikTok trend... Men have on average 40-50% greater upper body strength than women. The average man can do between 1-4 pull ups. Not so far off the women's average, right? Women's bodies are built differently. The majority of our muscle mass is held in our lower body, meaning we have to train harder to achieve an unassisted pull up. Add on top of that the years of being told that if we strength train too much, we'll become "bulky". In reality, strength training is hugely beneficial to women, reducing our risk of osteoporosis and arthritis in later life, which as women we are much more prone to. 👉 Read more on this here: https://lnkd.in/eNqnmmB9 But this post is not really about pull ups. It’s about women feeling comfortable to exercise without being judged for their ability. It’s about acceptance and allyship. #WomenInSport #WomensFitness #Gym

Human Performance Scientist | Keynote Speaker | Consultant & Advisor | Empowering knowledge workers with science-based tools to achieve sustainable high performance
Movement for the mind: I’m a massive fan of the Asics campaign to raise awareness of the potential for exercise to improve mental health. You may have already seen the images in this post. However, you may not be aware of the Creative Director behind this image and the campaign, Neil A. Dawson of Neil A Dawson & Company. These images are not just rendered. Neil and his team fabricated giant medicinal blister packs in a box designed to look like painkillers. Each pack also contained Asics running shoes, which were sent to brand ambassadors across the UK and the Netherlands. The campaign has a solid evidence base. For example, even small amounts of activity can make a huge difference. Walking just 2.5 hours each week (half the recommended volume of physical activity) could lower depression risk by 18% (PMID: 35416941). ❓Have you seen any particularly good campaigns or messages promoting exercise and physical activity? #wellbeing #performance #mentalhealth ------ I'm James, a speaker & scientist who equips knowledge workers with science-based tools to improve their wellbeing & performance. Today, I faced a challenging yet enlightening experience while playing tennis—an unexpected start to my period. Initially, it was embarrassing, but as the game progressed, I found myself embracing the situation with a newfound perspective. As I stepped onto the court, fully geared up for an "intense" match, I didn't realise my period had started!!! The sudden realisation after being told brought a wave of anxiety. Thoughts of potential stains running down my leg and having to walk home. The discomfort of playing through cramps clouded my mind. However, I decided to focus on the game, channelling my energy into each serve and volley and subsequently losing the match! This incident reminded me of the broader conversation about menstruation in sports, a topic that has been gaining attention but still carries a stigma. Elite athletes like Fu Yuanhui and Clarisse Agbegnenou have openly discussed their menstrual challenges, advocating for a more supportive environment in sports. Their courage inspired me to handle my situation with grace rather than embarrassment. I had always prepared for such scenarios in theory—keeping menstrual products in my bag and wearing appropriate attire. Yet, facing it in reality was a different game. Today, I learned the importance of self-acceptance and resilience. I continued playing, supported by teammates who understood the situation without making it uncomfortable. This experience has made me reflect on how we, as a society and especially in sports, need to normalise menstruation. It's a natural biological process, not a hindrance to our capabilities or a cause for embarrassment. By sharing our stories and supporting each other, we can shift the narrative from embarrassment to empowerment. Has anyone else experienced something similar during sports or other public activities? How did you handle it, and what advice would you give to others in the situation? #breakingtaboos #normalisingperiods #empoweringwomen #driveachange #hormonehealth #shareyourstory

1 in 2 women over 50 will break a bone due to osteoporosis, compared to 1 in 9 men. Muscle strengthening activities like weightlifting or body-weight exercises are one of the most effective ways to improve bone density. Yet still, only 41% of women in England part in strengthening activities at least twice a week, and that percentage decreases for Black and Asian women. But it's no surprise that women aren't aware of the importance of strength training to their health, when they are discouraged their whole lives from becoming too "muscly" or "bulky". This is particularly relevant on #NationalFitnessDay, when National Fitness Day is aiming to break last year's Fitness Day record of getting 10 million people active, all with the idea that 'Your Health is for Life'. Women ARE strong, and it's time we started embracing it 🔥 📊 Stats from Sport England, OrthoInfo and NICE #YourHealthIsForLife

Learning and Development Consultant | HR Project Manager | Change Coach | Operations and Implementation Consultant
As any woman in a male-dominant workplace (with lots of wanna-be Alphas who really have no clue what a true male alpha is (ask Jane Goodal et al., maybe?;)), I SEE A LOT OF OVERT, COVERT, SUBVERSIVE, PASSIVE-AGGRESSIVE, and/or FLIRTATIOUS TOXIC SEXISM. I am having none of it. Zero-tolerance policy. And I am coaching all my super girls how to adopt and implement it.
Famous women are consistently served the same boring, sexist questions. It's time to stop asking: ➡️ What's your workout regimen? ➡️ Who are you wearing? ➡️ Did you lose weight? And start focusing on their work. Bravo #AnneHathaway 👏
