This advocacy for women and equality is indeed inspiring. This vision isn't about sidelining men but rather about harnessing the unique strengths women offer. When women are fully empowered, the potential for transformative leadership is limitless. Here's to envisioning a balanced and equitable future for all. 🥂

I find it hard to reconcile this with the music video of blurred lines.

Uhh… are you forgetting the Blurred Lines video? Fine if he is trying to fix his ways now, but hasn’t “always” championed women. This is rewriting the past and deifying someone.

The Female Quotient, in essence what we are witnessing here from #PharrellWilliams is performative support for women and it is highly questionable given his exploitation of Kelis. Let's break it down: #UnfairContracts: #Kelis alleges that Pharrell and Chad Hugo tricked her into signing a contract that deprived her of fair compensation. #Royalties: She received no royalties from her first two albums, despite significant contributions. #PublicStatements: In a 2020 interview with The Guardian, #Kelis stated she was owed money but never received it. #Pharrell’s public advocacy for women's rights contrasts starkly with his past actions. True empowerment means aligning public statements with private actions. We must hold figures accountable and ensure our role models genuinely practice what they preach. The bar of validation in this space for us men is low as it is also in society in general. It is not enough to merely parrot what women have been saying since time immemorial. We must go beyond praising the words coming out of men's mouths and scrutinise what we men are actually doing to change the narrative through our actions and the resources we create or direct people towards in dismantling patriarchal ideologies.

Women need to realize that they CAN MAKE a MAJOR IMPACT on making our world a better place. Many women are doing amazing things. Many women are holding back or just not stepping up out of fear or lack of confidence or lear of failure. Let's be all we can be!
