Spoiler alert
I recently (amongst millions of viewers) binge-watched Season 4 of Netflix's "Emily in Paris," and beyond the never-ending drama, poorly - and cringy - pronounced French, and never-ending love triangles, one thing did stand out to me: “Quiet Luxury”.
Representing the fictional brand Umberto Muratori, Quiet Luxury embodies everything Emily isn’t – subtle, classy, and approachably fashionable. It’s understated elegance versus flashy ‘look at me!’ style. Represented by the fictional brand Umberto Muratori (and Emily’s latest love interest), Quiet Luxury captures the essence of subtle, classy, and approachable fashion. Inspired by real-life brand Brunello Cucinelli, it’s clear that today’s consumers are shifting towards this style. The era of bold prints and oversized logos is behind us. Instead, we welcome understated elegance—fashion that speaks to quality and craftsmanship without the need for flashy displays.
"Emily in Paris," love it or hate it, influences the fashion world. It's refreshing to see the show's portrayal of Marcello Muratori embracing the values of understated luxury. This isn't about global domination but about understanding the true meaning of luxury. It's appreciating the artistry behind each piece, valuing word-of-mouth over Instagram reels. It's the Cucinelli model, and honestly, this era of new, understated luxury, is one era that I truly embrace.
