Of all the boredom-busting activities for kids, scavenger hunts may be the most versatile. You can adapt them to pretty much any situation: They can be an indoor activity or an outdoor activity. You can incorporate art, movement, STEM or just about any of their interests. You can turn them into stealth learning exercises, where they have to hunt for facts or put together clues. And you can tailor them to the skill level of your kids, which makes scavenger hunts something you can do with toddlers or something you can do with tweens. #honestteentalk #thestruggleisreal #askingforafriend https://bit.ly/4cAkGrq

To accurately interpret your dog’s signals, it’s essential to understand their behavior and body language: Observational Skills: Pay close attention to your dog’s body language, such as tail wagging, ear position, and changes in movement. These subtle cues can indicate when they’ve picked up an odor. Behavioral Patterns: Familiarize yourself with your dog’s unique behavior when they’re working. Some dogs may become more focused, while others might exhibit increased excitement or alertness. #HandlerCraft #HRDTraining #DogHandlers #K9Unit #ScentDetection #DogMerickel #CaninePartners #DogTraining #K9Handlers #ObservationalSkills #BehavioralPatterns #CanineCommunication

Here’s a brilliant example of project based learning by James May. Leading a group of secondary aged school children to build a 1 :1 life size scale of a spitfire in 2009 It’s interesting how he’s developed there interest with the project by engaging them on relevant to the subject school trips. Despite professionals warning James that it’s impossible he still managed to achieve an amazing finished piece. If you have time watch the show. #projectbasedlearning #developingteamework

Just another day at work! Though it's a longer read, it might definitely have some new games for you to try tomorrow. It was articulation therapy, and I had these cones under which I hid the target words and gave a gun that shoots pom pom bullets. Shoot at the cone, find the word and try it. Pretty straightforward, right ? 5 minutes into the game, the little one took all the monster trucks he could find in one of the bins in the room, hid them under the cones and left the target words outside. Well, we got to practice our sounds, so we started saying those words to power up the super sized monster truck to hit the cones and free the smaller monster trucks. 10 minutes into the game, the little one collected all the pom pom bullets from the bag, hoisted two cones at opposite ends and made a pom pom bridge connecting those two. A team of little cars were arranged behind the bridge as another layer of protection. Now, each of the monster truck took a turn to crash into the bridge with the power words fueling our trucks. 10 minutes later, the little one decided its time to host a fight/race, between the smaller monster trucks and one super-sized monster truck as he called it. Each small truck is released along with the super-size truck at the same time. If the small truck gets crushed, it looses. If the big truck topples, the small truck wins. I grabbed a white board and a marker, wrote down the names of the smaller trucks and we played three rounds of that with the power words fuelling our trucks each time. Cyclops got a sweeping win and I did too eliciting around 50 trials of the target sound. The 3 other games that I had ready in the room remained untouched, but I wonder if I would have gotten the same amount of motivation and number of trials from this little one if I had stuck to the plan. Following the child's lead is the magic potion because play is their work and, they know what they're doing. #slplife #speechlanguagepathology #articulation #therapy #communication #childledlearning
