When Amy Anderson, a Fairview pharmacist, learned her friend Scott DeGroot needed a kidney transplant, she didn’t hesitate to register to be a donor. Turns out, Anderson was the match DeGroot needed. “People would ask if I was nervous, and I wasn’t,” said Anderson. “I had peace, knowing this was what I was supposed to be doing.”     Scott DeGroot, an avid runner and father of two, was diagnosed with polycystic kidney disease (PKD), a genetic condition often leads to a kidney transplant. To have it come from a friend and fellow running group member made it even more special.    Scott went from total kidney failure to completing a Ragnar race in April and Grandma’s Marathon in June thanks to Anderson’s generosity.
