As an oncologist, the foundational relationship that I have with a patient is based on mutual trust, which allows me to deliver care. The power of my voice as the CEO, and the influence both internally and externally, is still predicated on that foundational concept of trust. When I see patients, I ask about more than their symptoms. I want to know about their experience with the valet parking, the cafeteria, their inpatient hospital room.
