Will you continue Bob Barker’s legacy and donate to our spay/neuter efforts at FACE? https://lnkd.in/gz-T-ESH To celebrate 25 years of vet care for Indianapolis dogs and cats, we’re digging through our archive and sharing some of the treasures we uncover, like this promotional video made by Bob Barker himself. Before FACE opened its doors in 1999, we needed funding to build our facility and meet the euthanasia crisis head-on. With assistance from Bob Barker, we were able to raise $180,000, triggering an additional $20,000 donation from Bob Barker’s DJ & T Foundation. Prior to opening, there were no high-volume, low-cost spay/neuter clinics in the Indianapolis area, prompting FACE founders to start their own! 25 years later and FACE has significantly impacted the euthanasia rate in Indianapolis by completing more than 313,000 spay/neuter surgeries. As Bob says in the video, “It’s cheaper to fix them, than it is to kill them.” Donate to FACE today and be a part of our mission to keep dogs and cats happy, healthy, and with their families. https://lnkd.in/gz-T-ESH

March is #NationalEyeDonorAwarenessMonth! For this week's #FYIFriday, we are sharing five facts about eye donation! 1️⃣ Vision Restoration: Eye donation can restore vision for individuals with corneal blindness, allowing them to see the world again. 2️⃣ Universal Acceptance: Eye donation is accepted by people of all ages and backgrounds. 3️⃣ Longevity of Donation: Corneas can be preserved up to 14 days after donation, allowing ample time to arrange transplantation procedures. 4️⃣ Minimal Disruption: Eye donation is a non-invasive procedure that does not alter the donor's appearance. It can be done without interfering with funeral arrangements or traditional burial practices. 5️⃣ Multiple Lives Touched: One eye donation can restore sight for two people since each cornea can be transplanted individually.

MEET PLATO!😻 A gorgeous Florida kitty who loves nothing more than a warm cuddle and a sunny windowsill. Lately, however, Plato hasn't been himself. A painful condition called stomatitis has made it difficult for him to eat, causing a foul odor in his mouth and leaving him feeling miserable. The current recommended treatment is partial or full-mouth tooth extraction surgery. This may seem extreme, but for cats like Plato, it's often the kindest, most effective solution. Without his painful teeth, Plato can finally eat without discomfort, regain his energy, and enjoy his life again. The catch is the cost – an estimated $1,510.00 - $2,140.00. Plato's dad is a devoted father of four with a small family farm. Their resources are stretched thin, but he desperately wants to help his gorgeous boy. Searching for a solution, he stumbled upon our page and a glimmer of hope. 🙏 Plato is only three years old; this procedure will make a world of difference. He'll be able to eat again, cuddle comfortably, and enjoy those windowsill naps without pain. Plato’s dad said, “Plato is a very sweet boy who just wants to cuddle and sit on the windowsill. I just don't know what to do?? I have 4 children and a small family farm which supports my family, and we just don't have this kind of money, and we have no hope till I read about you online while searching for help.” Plato deserves a life free from constant pain. This vibrant young cat should be chasing butterflies, not suffering silently. With your help, he can get the surgery that will change everything. Every donation, no matter the size, will bring Plato closer to a happier, healthier future. Let's give Plato a reason to purr again. Employee Benefits | Innovative Professional with an eye for value creation to companies with compelling benefits strategies
Hello LinkedIn Connections, I do not post much on LinkedIn. I am more of a reader than a contributor. So posting is a little out of my comfort zone. It is with a heavy heart that I share the devastating news that my mother has been diagnosed with Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS), also known as Lou Gehrig's Disease, at the young age of 61. ALS is a progressive and fatal neurological disorder that affects the nerve cells in the brain and spinal cord that control voluntary muscle movement such as walking, swallowing and breathing. You might have heard of ALS in light of the 2014 #IceBucketChallenge, which has resulted in several life prolonging medications for ALS patients. Since her diagnosis, she has moved in with me so that I can be her caretaker alongside the professionals. This is a very physically and emotionally demanding role that I am delighted to do - being her caretaker is fulfilling God's work. I truly stand by that. I bring this up because the ALS Association hosts annual walks in different cities around the United States to raise money for ALS research and resources as well as spread awareness of this awful disease. In honor of my mothers everyday battle, I created a team, named Tammy's Tenacity, for the Fort Worth ALS Walk to Defeat ALS event happening on October 19th, 2024. As team captain, it is my role to cultivate a team and fundraise for further ALS research and resources. So, I am taking a leap of faith to ask my connections and/or their organizations to humbly donate to my team, Tammy's Tenacity. Your donation, big or small, greatly improves the life of ALS patients and their caretakers. Let's find a CURE! 🙏 To make a donation to my team, use the link below and search the team name "Tammy's Tenacity". Select a team member (you can select me, Sarah Salas) to make a one-time donation to. Each donation will receive a LinkedIn accreditation post from me, personally. 😊 #ALS #LouGehrigsDisease #AmyotrophicLateralSclerosis #ALSawareness #FindACure #ALScaretaker #Fundraising #Donations https://lnkd.in/g9s49CDc
The time is now to defeat ALS!

This week is #SmallCharityWeek. As a very small charity, we truly appreciate every bit of support you give us. Whether that is taking the time to understand more about what we do and telling others about our vital work, getting involved in our initiatives, volunteering your time to support us with fundraising or helping with some of our core activities, or engaging with us on social media by liking, commenting and sharing our posts to help them reach more people who need to hear about us and who need to hear that children and young people get arthritis too. Although we are a very small charity in terms of income and budgets, we manage to achieve a LOT by making every donation count. Our team of volunteers ensure that every penny we receive is used in the best possible way to make life better for those affected by Juvenile Idiopathic Arthritis (#JIA). Since we started 6 years ago, the number of families we support and the research projects we are involved in, has grown considerably but our greatest challenge remains funding. So this small charity week, we call upon you to consider Juvenile Arthritis Research when you are next planning to donate or fundraise for a charity. Our volunteers are always happy to speak with you to share more about our work and the difference you are making by choosing to support Juvenile Arthritis Research. Because we want to be there for every family that needs us in future and through our research, awareness and support work, and we want to one day see a world where no child has to suffer from arthritis. You can help us to do that when you choose to support Juvenile Arthritis Research - a small charity that is making a big difference. Thank you! We know times are tough but it would mean the world to us if you are able to consider supporting Juvenile Arthritis Research to help us continue to be here for those that need us. We receive no government funding so we can only continue to exist with your support. A one-off donation can be made, or regular monthly giving can be set up, via our website at www.jarproject.org - just click on the bright 'donate now' button at the top of the page. #ThinkJIA

CEO | Strategic Leader | Donor Engagement & Corporate Partnership | Major Event Management | Passionate for Delivering Humpty’s 32-year Charity Legacy
A new chapter of Humpty Dumpty Foundation support has been launched through our very special Mother’s Day Appeal. This campaign is a direct response to an urgent need to support new and nursing mums whose babies are receiving critical care in hospital across the country. Our goal through PUMPED FOR LIFE is to help care, support and give hope to new parents. It is a staggering statistic, but 1 in 5 babies require emergency intervention at birth and more than 30,000 newborn and preterm babies get admitted to Neonatal Intensive Care Units or Special Care Nurseries for medical care across Australia. Having a baby born too soon can lead to significant trauma for families. For a mum, not spending those first few seconds, hours, days or weeks with their new bub can be heartbreaking. This Appeal empowers and uplifts nursing mums by supporting them through the donation of much-needed Breast Pumps - fulfilling equipment shortages in our public hospitals across the country. Whilst they may not be able to directly nurse their baby, mothers can still provide for their bub through breast milk - giving them the best chance to not only survive but thrive. Please support this life-giving appeal to make a difference to sick babies and new mums across the country. https://lnkd.in/gSxjm2Ei
It might surprise you to know that across Australia, a lack of access to breast pumps in neonatal clinics is putting new babies at risk. Humpty is excited to announce a new Mother's Day Appeal - Pumped for Life - that offers you the opportunity to provide a breast pump without delay for new mums whose babies are fighting to survive. From 29 April to 13 May, the Pumped for Life appeal will allow you to celebrate your Mum by helping a new one. Humpty's goal is to raise enough funds for 88 hospital-grade breast pumps and milk warmers for hospitals right across Australia. Click the link below to donate and support this very special Mother's Day campaign today. https://lnkd.in/gjEWxxTb To become a Matched Giving partner and help Humpty provide lifesaving breast pumps to neonatal clinics across the country email our Head of Partnerships at [email protected]. #HumptyDumptyFoundation #PumpedforLife #Partnerships #MothersDay
