Ey have now released their degree apprenticeships. Last year I got my offer from EY so let me help you get yours. (No you don’t have to DM me anything.) A lot of people say to learn about the company you’re applying for but no one really says how or to what extent. A misconception is that all you need to do is learn about the role and read the “about us”. It’s important to still do that but to set yourself apart I recommend you go way above and beyond. One simple way of doing this is by finding those 100+ page reports and reading them.📖 And keep reading them till you have a portfolio of points which you can then use to enforce the points you make for either being a good candidate or why you decided to apply. For example: I believe I’m a good fit for “company” because after reading “ABC report” I noted how “name” who is the “position” said “quote” and this is something I really resonate with “why and example”. If you’re not applying for the Big 4 you can still very much use that frame work.🙌 Let me know if this is something you’re considering using.🤝 #degreeapprenticeships #EY #application

#nationalapprenticeshipweek It has been 5 months since I started my apprenticeship KPMG UK during this time, I have just completed my first audit busy season, it has been a challenging but rewarding experience this far, these are the biggest lessons I have learnt so far which I think is applicable to an aspiring apprentice to when they start their apprenticeship. Ask questions Biggest thing and the most important thing as a new joiner, you’re expected to know nothing, utilise your supervisors/incharges to gain more clarity and understanding about the tasks you can complete this will lead to higher quality work and less stress don’t suffer in silence reach out! Have patience Doing work in a corporate environment v doing schoolwork. You can often get set work that can take days to complete which is a stark change from sixth-form where you often homework you can complete within an evening, patience is key 🔑. Take initiative If you want something get it don’t wait take it! If you find an area of work/type of work interesting communicate your feelings. Learn and be inquisitive Show curiosity and critical thinking it is not enough to complete the task, ask about the bigger picture ask questions about particular terms and processes by doing this you able to build your understanding and knowledge fast. Don’t be afraid Going from to school to work is such a dramatic shift, this even worried me. Just do it scared put yourself out even if it scares you, go to company networking events, socials and participate in meetings, the hardest part is starting.

🚨NATIONAL APPRENTICESHIP WEEK🚨 🗣️ As this week is national apprenticeship week, I was invited to do a talk on my experience of working at Deloitte and being an apprentice 🕰️ During the talk, many points were discussed one of the major points being the ‘myths’ surrounding apprenticeship. 🙌 The biggest myth surrounding apprenticeships being a lack of career progression. ⚖️ In response to this ‘myth’ I made mention of Ben Newton Deloitte’s first partner who started off as an apprentice. Talking to the audience about his journey from an apprentice to a partner. 📌 Another major point of mention was the benefits of an apprenticeship. To mention a few: ⛔️ £0 Student debt, 👨⚖️ Work experience 💵 Financial gain 🏫 State of the art education 📍Growth of your personal brand and network 💎 Apprenticeships are definitely the talk of the town and with an ever increasing interest they are well on their way to becoming the next big thing. 💡 As someone who not too long ago experienced the apprenticeship process I understand the challenges and struggles it brings. ☎️ Therefore, If you are an aspiring apprentice reading this, feel free to reach out for advice and support. #nationalapprenticeshipweek #deloitte #deloittecareers #apprenticeships #university #alevels #ucas #growthmindset #finance

Hello Network, KPMG Insight Program with The Black Apprentice Network (BAN) 🤩 Yesterday, we had a fantastic session by Victor Sosanya where we learned about the power of personal branding and how important it is to craft a complete profile of who you are, what you stand for, and the values you offer. The speaker shared his own story—how he made a bold move by showing up in a suit on A-level results day and making a LinkedIn post about it. That post went viral and was a turning point in his career, proving the impact of personal branding! We also discussed the four pillars of personal branding; your story, values, passion, and what you can offer to others. Additionally, we learned about the KPMG Apprenticeship Program the opportunities they offer, how to apply, and had the chance to ask questions directly to current apprentices during an insightful panel session. It was truly a valuable experience! #PersonalBranding #KPMGInsightProgram #BlackApprenticeNetwork #Apprenticeship #CareerDevelopment #Networking

BDO – 130 apprentices wanted! BDO has opened its applications for more than 130 apprentices across its UK offices. Applications for the apprenticeship programme, which is designed for students who have completed their A-level studies (or equivalent), are now open until 24 March 2024. Successful candidates will start at BDO in September 2024. September will also see the firm welcome more than 650 people to its graduate trainee programme and more than 112 industrial placement students, who spend a year working at BDO in between their second and third year of university. As part of its commitment to increasing access to accountancy, BDO is also hiring for its summer work experience and insight programmes. Now in its third year, ‘Explore BDO’ is a three-day insight programme aimed at improving social mobility and access to accountancy for those from less privileged backgrounds. The programme is open to students in years 11-13 who meet the lower socio-economic criteria and are looking to get a taste of what the world of accountancy might look like. The firm is also recruiting for its annual Black Heritage programme, aimed at first year university students. Both programmes are open to candidates from across the UK. Paul Eagland, Managing Partner at BDO said: “Having chosen not to go to university myself, I know firsthand the benefits an apprenticeship can bring and the lifelong skills you learn along the way. Programmes like Explore BDO, designed for those from less privileged backgrounds, have a huge role in improving social mobility both in our industry and across the UK, and I am proud to see BDO playing a part in this.” See: https://careers.bdo.co.uk/
