The government will not take any action and they will not change the policy for the Income Tax slab they will listen and laugh since they and not paying tax from their earnings we are here to pay 30 percent. We have to pay CGST and SGST for each and everything apart from this again they are snaching amount by 30 percent. What will be do in remaining amount no life for us no savings only pay the EMIs of loans and other to survive the life again they'll take GST in EMIS interest too. There was time for the middle class, 11 months salary for home and 1 month salary as tax to the country, now it has become 9 for home 3 for the country. In a way middle-class salaried persons are like army jawans protecting the country by contributing 3 months of work.
Unfortunately We see the same arrogance and ignorance towards the middle class as was in UPA 2.0.

Beyond a point local or government or corporate thuggism going on since ages won't make much sense...It's also high time that we start talking beyond taxation and targets/ numbers!!! There's need to develop better civic sense globally too rather than later blame games and crowd fustration ralies and protests...governments and entities need to think through its short term as well long term impacts of its polices, structuring, procedures, descisions and approach...Organisations need to start setting sensible minimum pay and operating standards along with a healthy growing culture and ethics...Also to understand employees have life and personal space beyond office too...attempting to create a win win situation for maximum isn't an impossible task in todays time atleast...Basic facilities having high standards can actually be a game changer for individuals, governments, organisations and who not thus acting as precautionary PR in advance... #FocusOnBetterEcosystemBuilding

The reality of middle class people's working status and saving is well presented. Govt in power at present and in past didn't take pain to evolve tax simplification system in the country. The citizens of country contribute their wisdom equally in earnings as well as in how to save taxes imposed by Govt in multi dimensions. #Hide and seek. Because of this there are demands for Chartered Accountants in India. The small neighbour countries like UAE and Singapore are flourishing due to their simple taxation and incidentally most of the businessmen are Indians.
@Simple and reasonable tax system: influence public to contribute voluntarily.
% Tax: means for nation,s development and amenities for citizens and not for Freebies to political gain.

Backbone of modern economies is consumption driven growth and a major contributor to this is middle class. But successive governments are either ignoring or being ignorant about this. If middle class collapsed the modern economic system will also collapse

Reflecting on the challenges of our current tax system, effective tax planning is crucial and the need of the hour right now, especially for those in the highest tax brackets.
Gone are the days when filing alone sufficed. This proactive approach isn't just a smart move but the only possible solution, after all, as Benjamin Franklin famously said, "In this world, nothing can be said to be certain, except death and taxes—so better plan for the latter!"

If you earn X rupee a year, you would end up paying almost 65-70% as taxes to government 😭, Overall we almost work 8 months a year for government and still get nothing in return 😞.
I'm a middle-class Indian and feel the burden of our tax system. Despite paying 30-35% of my earnings as tax at source to government for development, I still pay to use same infrastructure. For example, I pay road tolls for roads built with my taxed money. On top of that, there's around ~30% GST on car purchases and gas to use the same infrastructure.
GST is everywhere, even though I already pay a significant portion of my income in taxes. Yet, we get no benefits. Politicians talk about freebies for the poor or policies for the rich, but the middle class is ignored. No party addresses our issues in their election promises. We get no tax relief, and almost two-thirds of our paycheck goes to taxes.
We can't even save enough peacefully for retirement because the Section 80C limit is too low for current inflation and future needs. Why does the middle class bear the brunt of the economy but get nothing in return? It's time to think about us too.
We need eye on middle class too, We deserve justice.

Govt to middle class be like: "Sabhi income tax bharo aur humse koi umeed mat rakho. Apna apna dekh lo" 😎 😅
---
In this budget, the old tax regime stayed the same, but the standard deduction was increased in the new regime.
Earlier, the government promoted deductions under section 80 and Chapter VI A to encourage middle-class people to invest in things like insurance, KVPs, PPF, mediclaim, etc. Now that many people are investing actively, the government is looking to earn more taxes from these sources.
As India progresses from a developing to a developed nation, all exemptions and deductions will slowly be removed.
No government, now or in the future, will ignore any source of income. It's like, "earn and pay taxes" only.

you earn 15 lacs per year you have to pay 1 lac 20 thousands as income tax,
bought home worth 30 lacs paid 2 lacs as stamp duty and registration charges
you need urgent money so you de invested tour mutual fund , you have to pay 10% short term or long term capital gain tax.
for upgradation your machine you bought laptop worth 60 thousand , it includes 14000 as GST.
in any medical emergency you have mediclaim but have to pay copay amount , GST also waiting you there.
in some scenario one month salary is your tds amount, that means you are working for one month to pay tax for government
electric bill, transportation , grocery, shopping , cloth everywhere GST is waiting for you apart from income tax.
instead of income tax it should be call as donataion to freebies for others.

I fully support the author. The middle-class in India shoulders a heavy tax burden with little in return. Despite paying substantial income taxes, we still incur additional costs for public infrastructure, such as road tolls and high GST on cars and fuel. Political discourse often neglects middle-class issues, focusing on the poor and the rich, leaving us without significant tax relief.
To address these concerns, I propose a few additional solutions:
1. Tax Bracket Adjustments- Review and adjust the income tax brackets to ensure that middle-class incomes are taxed at more reasonable rates, providing relief to those who need it most.
2. Tax Credits for Education and Healthcare- Introduce tax credits or deductions for education expenses and healthcare costs, easing the financial burden on middle-class families for these essential services.
3. Affordable Housing Schemes- Develop housing schemes specifically for the middle class, offering subsidies or lower interest rates on home loans to make home ownership more accessible.
4. Incentives for Savings and Investments- Provide additional tax incentives for investments in mutual funds, pension plans, and other long-term savings instruments to help middle-class families build financial security.
5. Increase Transparency and Accountability- Enhance transparency on how tax revenues are used, ensuring that taxpayers can see the direct benefits of their contributions in terms of improved infrastructure, healthcare, and education.
6. Public Transport Improvements- Invest in improving public transportation infrastructure to reduce reliance on private vehicles, thus lowering the overall transportation costs for middle-class families.
These steps would help create a fairer tax system and provide much-needed relief to the middle class.
