This week was special. I visited a few of Educate!’s livelihood bootcamp alumni in Uganda and saw how far they have come since. Hanifa greeted me with a big warm hug - her smile radiating joy and excitement. 😊 She eagerly began sharing how she has grown and is now thriving in agriculture. After leaving school early due to family issues and marrying young, Hanifa was a stay-at-home mother, growing food for her family. Following the bootcamp she started selling her farm produce including tomatoes, yams and sugar cane at the local market. With her profits and her husband's support, she has managed to buy a small plot of land to expand her agribusinesses. Today, she's flourishing in agriculture with dreams of expansion and starting a car wash business. 🌱 𝐇𝐚𝐧𝐢𝐟𝐚 𝐬𝐚𝐲𝐬, “𝐔𝐠𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐚𝐧 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐭𝐡 𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐜𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐚𝐠𝐞𝐨𝐮𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐡𝐚𝐫𝐝 𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠. 𝐋𝐨𝐰-𝐢𝐧𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐞 𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐧𝐞𝐫𝐬 𝐜𝐚𝐧 𝐦𝐨𝐯𝐞 𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐰𝐚𝐫𝐝, 𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐩 𝐛𝐲 𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐩. 𝐖𝐞 𝐣𝐮𝐬𝐭 𝐧𝐞𝐞𝐝 𝐤𝐧𝐨𝐰𝐥𝐞𝐝𝐠𝐞 𝐬𝐨 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐰𝐞 𝐜𝐚𝐧 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐬𝐩𝐞𝐫 𝐢𝐧 𝐰𝐡𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐫 𝐰𝐞 𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐝𝐨𝐢𝐧𝐠.” Like Hanifa, Olivia is also proving that challenges can be overcome. After leaving school due to pregnancy, she was struggling as a single mother. Today, because of applying the business knowledge from the bootcamp, her situation has changed. With her dad’s support, she has started a small community shop and clothing business. She dreams of expanding her clothing business into a large boutique, matching the standards of those in Kampala. 👗 “𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐛𝐨𝐨𝐭𝐜𝐚𝐦𝐩 𝐜𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐞𝐝 𝐦𝐲 𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐜𝐞𝐩𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐨𝐟 𝐰𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐧. 𝐈 𝐡𝐚𝐯𝐞 𝐧𝐨 𝐡𝐮𝐬𝐛𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐛𝐮𝐭 𝐈 𝐜𝐚𝐧 𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐧 𝐦𝐨𝐧𝐞𝐲 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐈 𝐜𝐚𝐧 𝐩𝐚𝐲 𝐬𝐜𝐡𝐨𝐨𝐥 𝐟𝐞𝐞𝐬 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐦𝐲 𝐬𝐨𝐧. 𝐈 𝐚𝐥𝐬𝐨 𝐡𝐨𝐩𝐞 𝐭𝐨 𝐬𝐮𝐩𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭 𝐦𝐲 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐠𝐞𝐫 𝐬𝐢𝐛𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐬 𝐭𝐨 𝐠𝐨 𝐭𝐨 𝐬𝐜𝐡𝐨𝐨𝐥,” 𝐬𝐚𝐲𝐬 𝐎𝐥𝐢𝐯𝐢𝐚. It's imperative to provide them with quality learning and skill-building opportunities because like Hanifa says, young people have the power and potential to change their own lives and also uplift their communities. 🌍💯 #EducationForAll #WomenInBusiness #Inspiration #YouthEmpowerment #SuccessStories

As a Master Trainer working with Educate in Uganda, I have really visited Haniffa and got amazed for her passion to transform lives of many youths, who are  getting inspired by her story as a case study in the current boot camp.💪💪
