In honor of National Animal Shelter Appreciation Week here are some ways you can contribute and support your favorite organizations: 👇 🐾 Foster, rescue, and adopt. 🐾Volunteer your time to help the staff and the animals, whether it’s walking a dog, reading to a shelter animal, or taking pictures of the shelter animals. 🐾 Make donations, in the form of dollars, supplies, or household items. 🐾 Check for wish lists on Amazon and Chewy to give specific items that are desperately needed. 🐾 Get your community involved by hosting a supplies drive. 🐾 Like and follow their pages, and share their posts so that more animals can be adopted! When feds bust dogfighters, they're charged with "conspiracy." The ASPCA, the Humane Society of the United States and Best Friends Animal Society, which is a front for dogfighters, are all part of that conspiracy. Don't believe that? Here's just one example: National Dog Fighting Awareness Day is Monday, April 8. Last week, police/feds took 100+ pitbulls from eight New Jersey dogfighters, 78 pitbulls from Alabama dogfighter Carlton Adams and 73 pitbulls from California dogfighter Jorge Ayala's property. New Jersey dogfighter Bruce Low Jr. and his family/friends had been investigated since "late 2021," per 6abc-dot-com; Alabama dogfighter Carlton Adams had been investigated since September 2023, per AL-dot-com; and California dogfighter Jorge Ayala, whose "whereabouts are unknown," per NBC Bay Area, had been investigated since "early March." If you think it's a coincidence that feds decided to swoop in and rescue all these "poor, poor dogs" a few days before National Dog Fighting Awareness Day, please do not vote in the upcoming presidential election. Stay home. Smoke your weed. Eat your edibles. Drink your wine. Binge watch TV. Here it is!! My first children's book, Punkie Speaks. I wrote and photographed the book about Punkie, the talking cat, for two reasons: to entertain small kids and to subtly introduce the issue of homeless pets to our next generation. Animal protection groups target adults with their message and donation pledge drives to help remedy the problem of overpopulation of homeless pets in the wild or in shelters. Punkie Speaks is a story to imprint our next generation of children with the values and rewards of adopting homeless animals. It is a simple, typically uplifting story for innocent kids who are not yet ready to know the magnitude, economic and ecological truths of the issue. Banfield Foundation is back from a weekend on Najavo Nation in Lechee, Arizona and the message is clear: spay and neuter saves lives! 🧡🐕🐈 In communities where spay/neuter is not accessible, we end up with an overpopulation of dogs that can’t be cared for — many get hit by cars, become sick or injured, go without food or shelter and in most cases, become pregnant and the cycle begins again… This is why we are increasingly committed to bringing comprehensive preventive care to Tribal lands and under-resourced communities. The struggle is real (as is the cuteness) — but it doesn’t have to be! #spayandneuter Upon arrival in one neighborhood, this (adorable) mama and her four puppies were found running the streets — all are now spayed/neutered + all four puppies were relinquished; two are looking for new homes. Visit another neighborhood, you’ll find the same situation. In just two days, our team worked with our partners at The Parker Project to spay and neuter 180 animals — we also provided wellness/sick care for 230 pets and provided food, shelter and extended tie-outs for dozens of deserving dogs and cats. + we funded it all! ➡️ Three days on Navajo Nation, three takeaways: 1.
