We know how special every part of Massachusetts is, and that includes the Cape. We were grateful to be in community in Bourne today with educators, employers and parents to hear about what's going well in child care, what could be improved and your aspirations for the future.

I figure that I'm overdue for an update. After celebrating 6 transformative years with the org on August 1, I am moving on from my role at Grassroots Leadership. It has been an amazing journey doing dope work with people that I love, AND it is time for me to have a different role in this movement. August 14 will be my last day as a staff member with the org that became my political home when I didn't know that I needed one. That brings me to my next update... The jouney of reentry is a lifelong process, and its landscape is treacherous for justice-involved people. Access to quality housing, employment, health care, education, and child care - to name only a few - are challenges that often decide between life, death, and institutions. Between the wave of drug-war PoWs being released after decades of warehousing and the people currently trapped in a "revolving door" relationship with incarceration, the reentry piece of carceral transformation is more important than ever. I know that the life I enjoy today is the exception to the rule. The thing is... I think the rule is firkn ridiculous, and I want to delete it. We want the exception to become the expected. We want to clear the obstacles keeping justice-involved people from having a real chance at prosperity. Now I have a chance to do something about it. As of August 1, I am the Executive Director of Building Promise USA. Time to barbecue or mildew. Who wants to change the landscape with us?

A good one. Quality education is the key to a growing and safe community.
I am incredibly humbled by the amount of support I’ve received from our community. Megan and I love Fishers and our schools dearly and want our son and future children to have the same experience as we did in school. I look forward to sharing my vision for our schools with voters!

Thinker | Change Agent | Builder | Hope Dealer | Father | Husband | Program Director of Engaging Fathers at CCSI
Dads are essential, and we're making a difference! I'm thrilled to introduce you to the Engaging Fathers and Young Men program, an initiative I'm proud to lead as Director at CCSI. Why Fathers Matter: Studies show children with engaged fathers have better emotional, social, and academic outcomes. Yet, barriers often prevent fathers from fully participating in their children's lives. That's where we come in! Engaging Fathers and Young Men breaks down these barriers by: Building a network of support: Connecting fathers with resources and community organizations. Fostering trust and understanding: Collaborating with caseworkers and agencies. Promoting family-friendly events: Creating a sense of belonging and togetherness. The results are powerful: Stronger father-child bonds Improved family well-being A more positive community impact Join us in making a difference! Read more about the program and its impact on our website: https://lnkd.in/gvVhZAHz I'd love to connect and answer any questions you have! Let's discuss how we can empower fathers and create a brighter future for our communities. #EngagingFathers #FathersMatter #CommunityImpact #MonroeCountyNY P.S. 𝙋𝙧𝙚𝙫𝙚𝙣𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣 𝙞𝙣 𝙋𝙤𝙡𝙞𝙘𝙮 🌀🌀🌀 Our community and family health and well-being are greatly tied to political action AND inaction. Our policies can help to create the safe, stable environments that children need to thrive. However, they often channel serious stress into certain communities, undermining child wellbeing. Policies that strengthen family financial security can go a long way toward reducing childhood adversity. Boosting families’ incomes through cash assistance, tax credits, and paid family leave can relieve the pressure. Helping to head off childhood adversity before it happens.
