Here’s a thought; In a world where knowledge seems to be at our fingertips, I find that true depth of understanding often comes from hands-on experience. Interestingly for leaders and executives, the ability to dive into practical skills can profoundly expand your problem-solving toolkit, I’ve seen this many time in industry where really good company executives can dig down to the critical facts and instigate a solution based on their wider understanding, having practical skills widens and enriches your perspective not only in your specialized field but in everyday challenges as well. I set up Motor Skills Training Ltd. because of my belief in the power of practical learning—a philosophy that extends beyond the boardroom. Imagine being able to fix a classic car's engine, but more importantly understanding the intricacies of its operation and how the challenges in design and production were solved. It's not just about fixing mechanical problems; it's about fostering a mindset that appreciates the elegance of solutions that have stood the test of time. 🔧 Our Basic Car Maintenance Program, or any of our individually tailored courses, are more than just a course; it's a bridge connecting the past's ingenuity with today's innovations. For those of you who cherish classic cars, it's an opportunity to delve deeper into your passion, discovering first-hand how these beautiful machines have solved problems for decades and how these solutions can illuminate modern strategies. We always make our courses fit what you want to learn about, something a bit different from traditional courses. Why should industry leaders learn about car maintenance? Because the lessons learned from understanding a gearbox or tuning an engine are invaluable when applied to contemporary business challenges. It teaches patience, precision, and innovation but also helps you understand how the world really works and practical problem solving. Join us to enhance your practical skills, not just to better understand your classic car, but to unlock a new dimension of problem-solving that will elevate your capabilities in all areas of life and work. Emphasis on trade school, EV education being realized by educators, governments The collision repair industry, along with career and technical education (CTE) officials and government agencies, is recognizing the need to strengthen skilled trades programs due to the increasing number of electric vehicles (EVs) on the road. This surge in EVs has created a demand for technicians equipped with the necessary skills to repair and maintain these vehicles. The collision repair industry has been grappling with a shortage of technicians for several years, with the TechForce Foundation estimating a requirement of over 113,000 collision techs by 2026. As a result, education centers like the Columbiana County Career and Technical Center (CCCTC) and Albany Technical College are investing in expanding their facilities and offering hands-on EV automotive and collision repair training programs. To address the shortage of skilled trades workers, leaders in the industry are advocating for increased support and funding for CTE programs. Former NASCAR driver Richard Petty and Billy Lane, founder of Choppers Inc., emphasized the importance of trade education and hands-on skills. They highlighted the declining investment in CTE programs and urged parents and school officials to provide opportunities for students to explore trade careers. The collision repair industry has recognized the need to change the perception of these trades, emphasizing the highly technical nature of the work that requires clean and modern facilities with advanced technology. The push to strengthen skilled trades programs comes as the collision repair industry faces a shortage of technicians, particularly in the context of EVs. Government agencies and education centers are working to develop training programs to meet the growing demand for skilled technicians in the electric vehicle repair sector. Increased investment in CTE programs and changing perceptions about trade careers are seen as crucial steps in addressing the shortage of skilled trades workers in the collision repair industry.
