How is the bar set in your hospital? Are you setting expectations too low where your superstar performers are sliding down to meet the low expectations? Is the level of expectations the same for all team members? Too often leaders start to move the bar of expectations lower to meet the poor performance of those on the team. Such a great picture of what Leadership and Self Leadership looks like. Self Leadership realizes I'm playing Flute but, I'd bring more value to the team, it's mission and those they serve by playing Trombone. Leadership recognizes the passion, commitment, and talents that each person brings to a team and creatively plugs each person into the role where that person would bring the most value to the organization, its mission and the people they serve...and then Encourages, Equips and Empowers them to do the work that they have been placed there to do.
