NEWS ALERT: Gebr. Heinemann has reported its 2023 results, with turnover up 25% year-on-year to €3.6 billion – reaching parity with 2019. The Middle East & Africa region was the principal driver of sales last year; operations at Istanbul Airport, where Heinemann operates with JV partners Unifree Duty Free and ATU Duty Free, generated more than €1 billion. A significant coup was landing the retail concession rights at King Abdulaziz International Airport in Jeddah together with JV Jordanian Duty Free Shops and the ASTRA Group. Raoul Spanger, Co-Chief Executive Officer, commented: “We had planned to grow in the Middle East Africa region in 2023 and achieved great success there by winning the concession at Jeddah Airport and signing the contract for the stores aboard AROYA CRUISES, the first cruise ship of Cruise Saudi’s newly established cruise company.” For a more detailed breakdown of the Hamburg-headquartered travel retailer's channel, regional and category performance, watch out for a more detailed report coming soon on TRBusiness.com... #dutyfree #travelretail #airportretail #downtownretail #cruiseretail #inflightretail #airlineretail Max Heinemann Inken Callsen Nina Semprecht Simon Temps
