Thanks Canopy, Nicole Rycroft and team and folks at Zalando!
I wish I could claim those words for my own—they came from that other person who lives deep inside of me whose lens of looking at “sustainable fashion’ is jaded by nearly three decades of compound resentment, impatience, plausible deniability and philanthropic infidelity.
Renewcell is more than a company—it is a beakon of hope and light for all of us portending a potential pathway for real investment, new business models and real impact at scale. It’s worth saving as much as this sector is worth saving—do we really need another t-shirt?
Sure it is not a perfect company, nor does it have perfect product (no company or product is), but for me and for many others Renewcell gives us hope that maybe, just maybe, we can slow down our collective “race to the bottom”—at least a little to soften the blow when we hit rock bottom🌎.
Thankfully, the this person (me) is a impatient optimist and doesn’t dwell on the past. Instead, he wakes up most days at 6 AM, posts on LinkedIn (the algorithm loves early risers, apparently), drinks his unfair trade coffee, blows his nose 👃🏼with viscose tissues of unknown Indonesian origin (deforested?) and gets to work at this little company called The Sourcery.
Where over the course of the next 10 hours, day in and day out, can be found working alongside 12 colleagues and a growing Partner network of brands, manufacturers, traders and growers who together are committed to transforming trade for good.
We are not here to save the 🌎, we’re here to save our industry—from itself.
This starts with shifting the “impact paradigm” and therefore we have to first rewrite the rules of trade where transparency, traceability, efficiency, impact and equity create real value and go hand in hand with profitability—benefiting everyone from grower to consumer.
We want the next 30 years to deliver real progress and impact and not just the “image of impact.” Cotton is just the beginning.
Join us for our launch webinar on April 11 of our groundbreaking Impact and Assurace programme, where primary verified data becomes the currency in which we can fund the future of our industry so that we collectively don’t have to file bankruptcy ever again.

For the fashion industry to shift to a more circular system, we need everyone in the supply chain to play their part. Brands of all sizes play an important role.
It's not too late for brands to signal their support for Renewcell. With government regulations for deforestation and textile waste around the corner, and the known climate impacts made by materials sourcing, the fashion industry can't afford to lose the world's first commercial, advanced recycling mill for low-carbon textiles. Send us your 'Letter of Interest' to purchase an explicit volume of CIRCULOSE® today!
