AI isn't a silver bullet and it's not a straightforward process to create value from your data - even with the arrival of some remarkable new tools. In reality, the path to unlocking value is far from simple. Behind the scenes, AI involves intricate data engineering and strategic planning. This encompasses a range of critical steps from sourcing and cleaning data to training models. Additionally, it includes navigating ethical considerations and ensuring robust security measures are in place. At Blue Margin, we can guide and support you on this journey. With our Managed Data Service (MDS), we help you navigate the complexities of AI, ensuring you have the data foundation in place to create value. As part of my personal goals for 2024, I would like to continue sharing the knowledge I gained as part of my professional experience. I have made a two-part video on "Data Governance in Generative AI technology". In this video, I have covered topics about why Data Governance plays a very critical role in Generative AI technology and also about the 'data quality' pillar. In my next video, I will cover the remaining pillars of "Data Governance in Generative AI technology". Two of the primary goals of Data Governance are as follows: 1. Protecting consumer data (from a consumer perspective) 2. Building trust between a company, a product, and a consumer (from a company perspective) Based on my experience and learnings, I have defined the four foundational pillars of Data Governance in Generative AI technology (and explained them), which support the goals of Data Governance. They are as follows: 1. Data quality 2. Data security 3. Model governance 4. Human-in-the-loop Here is the link to the my second video on this topic: https://lnkd.in/gVKeZtvq Please feel free to leave a comment or provide feedback😊. #knowledgesharing #datagovernance #generatieveai #consumertrust #protectyourbusiness #protectyourdata

But the most insidious aspect of this trend is how it distracts from the real work that needs to be done. In my experience, the unglamorous truth is that most companies aren’t ready for AI — not because they lack consultants, but because they lack the fundamental data infrastructure and governance necessary for AI to thrive. https://lnkd.in/eFZh-7ja

One of my takeaways from the Collide conference the other week is that if you wait to start on AI until your data is ready (clean and accurate), you’ll never start. Many companies are spending huge amounts of time and money on nebulous data prep projects, but it also seems clear to them that they’ll never be "done," and that in most cases they’re not even able to answer the question “ready for what?” Once you've figured out basic data access and governance questions, it's time to start. You may be surprised by how much more robust modern AI methods are to messy data, and you'll be able to direct your data prep investments toward what's actually required for specific use cases. #CollideConference #Graft #AI

I could not agree more. Numerous studies speak to the risks companies can face when making decisions based data that is inaccurate, incomplete, or subject to misunderstanding or misinterpretation. In some cases, those decisions have led to catastrophic results. As our dependence on AI grows, it is imperative that we exercise greater diligence in ensuring the quality of data used to train those AI systems.
Its all about the DATA! Interesting short read about the importance of data in AI applications. https://lnkd.in/gYWwegN3
