Celebrating Europe Day 2024: Unity and Progress 🇪🇺 On May 9th, 1950, the Schuman Declaration was presented, a document that is considered the first step in the creation of the European Union. Today, on Europe Day, we come together to celebrate the spirit of unity and cooperation that defines our continent. It's a day to recognize our collective progress and the strength that comes from our diverse cultures, languages, and histories. Our Europe Office is actively engaged in making the EU's Digital Decade and Green Deal initiatives accessible to all. We are here to help translate complex regulations and directives and to demonstrate their impact on your organizations. Our commitment is to ensure clarity and support as you navigate these changes. Last trip to Brussels before summer sets in. I am glad to represent Sweden in the EU's Committee of the Regions with such dedicated and competent colleagues Åsa Ågren Wikström Jelena Drenjanin Looking ahead, the focus must be on how the EU can lead the way. Common frameworks, regulations, and rules are beneficial, but they do not form the foundation of an innovative society capable of handling future challenges. My hope is that collaboration and discussions with those who are actively working to ensure we stay at the forefront of technology, innovation, and technical development can become a clearer voice in how Europe can address rapid technological advancements and benefit from them. One of my guiding principles for the future will be to ensure that the conditions for innovation, technical solutions, and new technology are seen primarily as problem-solvers rather than something that primarily needs to be regulated. This feels like a task worth contemplating and gathering energy for during the summer. #CoR #EU
