🚀 Fresh off the press: A new report featuring comprehensive findings from our #UAS test centres survey! 👉 The EUROCONTROL Innovation Hub #EIH has conducted a survey of 29 unmanned aircraft system (UAS) test centres across our Member States to collect data about these centres' capabilities & operations, as well as the challenges they face. Our target 🎯 is to use their collective voice to paint a vivid picture of the current #UAS landscape & chart a course for collective progress. The work was performed in the context of the European UAS Test Centres Alliance, which was initiated in March 2023 as a result of the Network of U-space Stakeholders' activities. The Alliance, initiated by DLR, comprises 35 organisations from 17 European countries. Its mission is to create a platform that fosters communication & exchanges within the European UAS test site community. Interesting report. Too bad UK test centres are missing, but I understand the member states consideration only. One slight correction though - the map location for the test centre in Cyprus, is showing Crete.

3moWe hope this survey will raise the interest of the ecosystem, from regulators to manufacturers, about the test centres in Europe, their added value to UAS operations but also the challenges they face. The incredible growth of the UAS market and the deployment of U-space services require professional, well equipped and safe test centres for turning innovation into concrete products. We thank all the test centres who have participated to this survey (and trust us, 45 questions is not something you do in 5 min) and the initiative team of the Alliance (Yvonne Minnich and Daniel Sülberg from German Aerospace Center (DLR), Vadim Kramar Joost Vreeken, MBA, BEng Antonio Zilli Emilien and Bertin Calvoo from Instituto Nacional de Técnica Aeroespacial «Esteban Terradas»).
