The French Tech Finance Partners (FTFP) consortium, comprising 16 key stakeholders within the ecosystem (including our Founding Partner Alice Albizzati) under the leadership of Reza Malekzadeh, has recently presented its recommendations to Marina Ferrari, Secretary of State for the Digital Sector. The primary goal is to enhance financing within the French Tech ecosystem and bolster France's appeal to investors These recommendations succinctly outlined in an op-ed featured on Maddyness, underscore three strategic imperatives: ➡ Ensuring sustained and strategic funding support for startups. ➡ Cultivating a comprehensive understanding of all available exit strategies to facilitate ecosystem renewal. ➡ Embracing social and environmental challenges as opportunities for positive transformation and long-term value creation. 🚀 A Year of Unprecedented Support for Innovation by Bpifrance 🚀 In a remarkable display of commitment to innovation and entrepreneurship, Bpifrance has once again proven to be the cornerstone of France's economic dynamism. Last year, the public bank and economic powerhouse injected an astounding €4.5bn into startups and innovative SMBs, reinforcing its role as a key supporter of early-stage businesses. 🏦💡 With equity investments and subsidies, particularly the latter contributing nearly €4bn, Bpifrance has laid a solid foundation for growth and innovation. The focus on #deeptech companies is especially noteworthy, with a significant portion of funding dedicated to pioneering deep technology. 🌐🔬 Moreover, Bpifrance's support for startups is just a fraction of its mission. Business Angels Insights from Italy → 1671 Business Angels Mapped, with 78% contributing valuable entrepreneurial or managerial expertise. → 66% Affiliated with Business Angel Groups or Networks, showcasing the collaborative essence of BA Italy's investment ecosystem. → 33 active Business Angel Groups and Networks providing a structured platform for investor-startup connections. → Over the last four years, these groups actively participated in 120+ funding rounds, investing €45 million in startups (2018-2022). → Startups supported by BAG/BAN experienced remarkable 2.2x growth in employees and a substantial 5.1x increase in revenue (2018-2021).
