During this session, we will explore case studies proposed by three different cities to better understand the nature and increasing importance of these Climate Plans, as well as how the governance of these plans influences their design and implementation.

Forests are unequivocally vital to our planet's health and our own well-being. Yet, it's disheartening to witness the relentless pace at which we're depleting them. We're outpacing our efforts to conserve them, hindered by inadequate regulations, enforcement mechanisms, and a societal shift towards a more environmentally conscious lifestyle. The true significance of forests seems lost on many, as we fail to grasp their profound importance to our collective existence. Let us strive to make every day a commemoration of this indispensable ecosystem, acknowledging its invaluable role in sustaining life on Earth.

On International Day of Forests, we reaffirm our commitment for a greener Europe by endorsing the initiative to plant #3BillionTrees by 2030.     Let's protect and preserve the forests for the generations to come!    In our opinion on the new EU Framework for Forest Monitoring, we call for:  🔍 an advanced system for mapping and locating forest unites;  🛰️ integration of EU Earth observation technology and national forest data;  🌍 public accessibility to information;  🤝 alignment with the key European legislation on climate, biodiversity and more.      More information: europa.eu/!GhdfN6     #EUForest

Freight is important to keep cities running. European cities work on clean and smart freight. This report, published by @Environmental Defense Fund Europe, is meant for cities in Europe and worldwide that can use some help. Because the problems cannot be solved alone, the report focuses on partnerships with stakeholders: how to get there, and what steps to take? We are happy to have added practical lessons to the theory all over Europe, by interviewing experiential experts in Spain, Italy, the Netherlands, Sweden and Belgium.
