Today we want to share with you a series of blogs on how Integral City Maps reveal Climate realities. The author is Marilyn Hamilton - cofounder of LCE, Founder of Integral City Mesh works Inc. This series of five blogs explores how Integral City Maps help us understand Climate Change through the stories of evolutionary human systems embedded in the maps. The first article describes four mirrors that represent different perspectives on humanity and climate change. Brought to you by Adam McKay and colleagues...
"Yellow Dot is proud to announce we have finished production of the first test episode of The Climate Report - a fully dedicated bi-weekly climate news show. We're releasing it next week.
As the climate warms at an increasingly dangerous rate, people need to be informed; for our safety, and so we can be part of the massive collective effort required of this singular moment.
What if media reported this story like it should be? Let's find out!
Due to billions in fossil fuel ads and political spending, the majority of news outlets have not given people vital climate information.
Only 1% of stories on network news cover the climate emergency! We need to change that.
This is a new kind of news show for the new world we’re now living in.
But it only works if it’s useful, and people see it. So we want to hear from you: What do you want to see from climate news? Let us know in the comments."

Did you know that the US has six distinct climate opinion groups? Learn more about this with the Six Americas Super Short Survey (SASSY) from the Yale Program on Climate Change Communication. Individuals can learn more about the segment they coincide with, and museums can use the group scoring tool to learn about staff or even visitor opinions on the topic.

Important and powerful - it’s so heartening to see this kind of research on heritage and climate change being published.
I think those of us who work in the sector know how cultural heritage and natural environment/climate change are intrinsically linked, but it’s sometimes difficult to articulate, and often difficult to demonstrate the impact of something that isn’t necessarily quantifiable.
From the paper abstract: “[…] the long-standing tangible approach to heritage does not incorporate emerging understandings of its intangible components and the diverse connections of all forms of heritage to place, meaning, identity, and global change goals of sustainability and equity.” 🫳🎤
Sharing my new article: it explores the history of the US federal system for cultural heritage and its capacity to meet challenges of climate change. It's wonky and has just been published in PNAS.
