Today we launch our public sector report – ‘Leading from the front’ for which we surveyed over 100 civil service leaders exploring how data and digital integration cut costs and improve public services. Our report reveals that a staggering 79% of respondents believe the perceived or actual burden of data sharing reduced the willingness of their organisation to collaborate with other departments. In addition, 34% of those we spoke to stated there is not enough recognition within government of the value of data, leading to a lack of resources. This needs to be addressed as a matter of urgency if we are to meet the ambition laid out by the Prime Minister and Matt Clifford in the AI opportunities action plan for the British Government.
