The most important thing is to have a cohesive team with global knowledge of the project ,so that they understand the global objectives and goals and can each act towards their individual objective but always in a synergistic way in pursuit of the project's common objectives.

Developing a full-on strategy to reduce ongoing energy costs is great for the environment, and for your bottom-line. Both priorities are valuable. This work is often viewed as challenging, expensive, with a low internal rate of return. A great step-off point is to pull in your operations teams to identify the energy related inefficiencies of your day-to-day operations. They live and breathe this and are best equipped to understand the opportunities. So, let’s get the team together for brainstorming. Build a diverse group including managers, quality, maintenance, and operators. Establish ground rules (full participation, only positive comments, build on each other’s ideas, strict time limit). Agree on and define the problem to be solved (even if it seems obvious). Build a storyboard. Encourage crazy ideas, and quantity over quality. Group similar ideas to provide focus. Prioritize ideas and actions based upon your criteria (capabilities, cost, timing, effectiveness, etc.). This can be done later if timing is tight. Agree as a team to the first set of priorities. Many times, you will find these solutions are quick to implement, inexpensive (or free), and have immediate impact. As a side benefit, this is a moral booster for the team. “No idea is a bad idea” is the principle of effective ideas generation. Good one is like digging the gold. We therefore need to continue to generate lots of ideas irrespective of outcome. This kind of practice creates a habit among all team members to think in a creative way. Any successful product’s history will tell as to after how many unsuccessful ones, this current successful came into being. Keep your patience at a high level and continue to look for the one which is being waited for so long. Do you agree?

A good engineer can be a bad employee and a bad engineer can be a good employee. Technical competence doesn't always supersedes the interpersonal competence! It solely depends on the management what kind of environment they want to nurture within team!

By what factor does a well functioning team outperform a team of average individuals? Some say four, some say ten or even a hundred or infinity (finished product is infinitely more valuable than never finished product). So, when you have a team that outproduces the rest by, let's say, a factor of four (twice the work in half the time). What are they worth? What should you do with the rest if they don't become performant within a reasonable timespan? I say, celebrate the experts. Let the rest know they failed. Allow them to learn from those that do great. Give these things meaning by putting in consequences. What say you?

A team with strategic thinking always produce good results.

One question and technique I used over the years (and still do) is to ask the following question and challenge the team: "What is the smartest, easiest way to do this project, job, etc.?" This accomplishes two things: 1. The smartest way usually means the most effective (do the right things) and efficient (do things the right way.) 2. The easiest way usually meant most people involved would buy in because it was easy to understand and implement. This always leads to greater success because the whole team would be on board.
