Exciting News for US Government, Defense Industrial Base, Intel and the entire Technology Industry! The Biden-Harris administration has awarded Intel up to $3 billion in direct funding under the CHIPS and Science Act for a capability known as the 'Secure Enclave'. This significant investment underscores the administration’s commitment to bolstering domestic semiconductor manufacturing and innovation. The Secure Enclave program builds on previous RAMP-C and SHIP programs, and expands the "Five Ways Intel is Leading America’s Semiconductor Comeback". Today’s announcement reflects the continued progress of Intel Foundry as we are bringing together all the components customers need to design and manufacture chips at the leading edge. I am excited to share the podcast I did with Siemens EDA at the Design Automation Conference (DAC). Juan from Siemens and I dived into the partnership with the U.S. Department of Defense via the RAMP-C (Rapid Assured Microelectronics Prototypes – Commercial) program. We also discussed how Intel's onshore leading-edge foundry and vibrant ecosystem are serving commercial and MAG (Military, Aerospace, and Government) customers. The U.S. Department of Defense has selected Intel Foundry for phase three of its Rapid Assured Microelectronics Prototypes - Commercial (RAMP-C) program, which enables defense customers to build product prototypes on Intel 18A process technology. This is a critical milestone for the RAMP-C program and our collaboration with the DOD as it signals the readiness of Intel 18A process technology and advances Intel's vision of restoring domestic leadership in leading-edge semiconductors. We are pleased to see the RAMP-C program encouraging the creation of a more sustainable, resilient, and trusted commercial foundry ecosystem in the U.S.
