CORE VALUE iPhone sales down 10%. Revenues 4%. Net income down 2%. The greatest trick Tim Cook ever played was convincing Wall Street that these 👇 were good results. How'd Tim Apple do it? Bribing everyone with a $110 Billion stock buyback. https://lnkd.in/e6YqUJAC Nice trick if you have the cash to pull it off. But buying back stock and fending off anti-trust suits is not a long-term strategy. Make no mistake, Apple is not "in trouble." But these results, despite the world-class spin by Mr. Apple, show clearly that Apple is not headed in the right direction - or any direction - right now. #apple #earningsseason

Back in 2020, had Apple offered a special version of their Apple Silicon M-Series to power Windows on ARM, Apple’s market value might have hit $4T by now. Apple could’ve deftly branded it as the “W Series” to power Windows on ARM, similar to the M Series that powers the Mac, giving Apple a threatening near monopoly of powering Windows laptops and tablets. Instead, in less than 3 years, Qualcomm filled the void that Apple created, by introducing their own ARM on Windows chip by launching their seriously powerful Snapdragon X Elite, opening the door for Qualcomm to monopolize the Windows laptop and tablets sector. While it was not a strategic oversight by Apple, due to Apple unique culture of just wanting to uniquely be different, Apple just boosted Qualcomm’s chances to become a much deeper player. The last time something like this happened was back in the day when Apple stuck to the 4” iPhones and refused to go any larger. Samsung came in with their very large format screens and quickly took the crown as the world’s biggest seller of mobile phones. Will Apple suffer? Not by any means. But they just allowed Qualcomm to become the next “Samsung”.

Apple is up considerably post-close, but there is not much to cheer about. Apple's Greater China revenue, which includes mainland China, Taiwan, Singapore, and Hong Kong, slid 8% year over year to $16.37 billion. Cook threw a cookie to shareholders with a monster buyback. That’s about it! #technology #investing Apple beats Q2 estimates as iPhone sales decline 10% https://lnkd.in/eTEUf3yS
