Of course, if one sees a threat coming from any decent distance, you are much better off standing up, creating distance or putting an obstacle between you and the person you are in conflict with. Suppose you can spot a potential threat approaching from a reasonable distance. In that case, it's advantageous to stand up, increase the space between you and the individual you're in conflict with, or place a barrier between you. But there may be times you are caught off guard or need more space to move. In this case, if someone is threatening you, they will most likely be close up and in your face. NIGHT SHOOT ON THE STREET - FRI 28 JUNE 👉 We had a bunch of good, honest, #2a loving people turn out for our Night Shoot on the Street. 👉 We left it "shooter preference" what they wanted to train - some wanted to test their equipment at night, and go heavy...others wanted to run light and go CCW/EDC, Active Shooter scenarios, from both a holster and carry-bag, platform. 👉 Everything is different at night; it all becomes somewhat slower, more deliberate. 👉 There are so many factors to consider - angles, direction of travel, depth perception, visibility, threat identification, use of white light, rate of fire, managing by-standers, weapon manipulations/malfunctions, all require a little bit more thought. 👉 This is what we love about the folks of SW Florida - their enthusiasm to train. #immokalee #swflorida #florida #usa

DON'T BE A BYSTANDER. IF YOU SEE CONCERNING BEHAVIOR REPORT IT! This is so true excellent advice. People who commit these acts are usually in crisis. Anyone who is in crisis will exhibit concerning behavior. Those who know that person are in the best position to determine if something is wrong and get that information out to those who can intervene. If you see concerning behavior from someone you know, don't ignore it. Report it. No judgment or assumptions. You are in the best position to know that something isn't right.   We must change the narrative that these individuals are evil psychopathic monsters. They are all someone's brother, sister, father, mother, son, daughter, or friend. Although they can certainly do reprehensible things and need to be held accountable, most are just humans in crisis that believe violence is the answer. If you step in to solve their crisis, then they are no longer motivated to kill.
