I choked down a cup of coffee so strong it needed a spoon. Then I turned to my right just as my sales trainer fired up another Marlboro. Though it was only 9:30 AM, across the table was our prospect, who was probably on her 5th cup of tar and 2nd pack of cigs. The life insurance policy we had just presented had 3 options, but we knew she was going to pick the middle one. It solved the needs we had uncovered and was still within her budget. As salespeople, you often find yourself in situations that would be difficult to explain to people, not in the realm of sales. You're in the business of morphing into any situation to relate to the prospect and show them you're more than just trying to get the sale. You're just like them but there to help, just as a friend would. Whether you’re in someone's kitchen, at the bed of a truck, or on a Zoom call, presentations can happen anywhere. Adapt to each situation and be ready for them all. If you stick to the core of presenting your offering in terms of its effect on the customer’s life… It won’t matter who you are or who you are speaking to… You will make consistent sales.
