Sharing this amazing article which emphasizes on how we can tackle behavior that holds us back. It shares the perspective of people who have successfully navigated these challenges by demonstrating certain behaviors and how they can be handled. Most of us are aware of what is keeping us from advancing in our careers, this article would probably help us change our outlook as to how we view these situations before we can finally take a stab at overcoming them.

Certainly, these actions are crucial to undertake. However, if, as has been the case for many, despite diligent efforts, the undesired habit persists, the next step is to cultivate the art of observation. Take the time to keenly observe the habit, along with the thoughts, feelings, and beliefs entwined with it. Allow it to unfold naturally while maintaining a stance of detached awareness. Refrain from succumbing to frustration over its recurrence, as this only reinforces the habit. Avoid actively attempting to cease the habit, as this might inadvertently strengthen it. Instead, practice observation with mindfulness, distancing yourself from the habit. Consistently adopting this approach may pleasantly surprise you — the undesired habit gradually loses its grip, no longer asserting control. You cease to identify with it, granting yourself the freedom to engage in the desired habit without being overshadowed by the unwanted one. This lies at the heart of both SWEET Institute’s New Psychotherapy Certificate Course and the Third Psychotherapy Certificate Course.

🔍 Just finished diving into the wisdom-filled pages of Dave Hitz's classic, "How to Castrate a Bull". One quote really resonated with me, and I couldn't resist sharing: "When new people were fixing the problems of the past, I cautioned them not to complain too loudly about the 'moron who designed this system'. I said, 'you’ll design a replacement system after two more years of growth, the moron will turn out to be you.' Respect your ancestors, and perhaps your descendants will respect you." Too often, we look back at previous systems, ideas or projects and wonder, "Who thought this was a good idea?" But what we fail to see is the context in which those decisions were made. We forget the constraints, the market realities, the technical limitations of the time. Hitz's words are a gentle reminder to extend grace to the innovators of the past. They were navigating uncharted territory, just like we are today. So, the next time you're knee-deep in designs, or strategy docs from yesteryears, remember to respect the journey. Because soon, it'll be your work that future generations will be building upon. Who knows, they might even find themselves questioning your brilliant ideas. Food for thought, isn't it? 💭 #BookRecommendations #Leadership #DaveHitz
