Hey friends 👋 My colleague Daniel Baptista Dias published a blog post on integrating vendor SDK-instrumented apps into an OpenTelemetry stack. He ran into this issue while helping a customer and decided to document the process. I thought it was cool to share if you're dealing with legacy SDKs and new OTel SDKs. The solution involves using the transform processor in the OpenTelemetry Collector to standardize the traces. 🤯 Pretty cool stuff. I wanted to share this use case and check with the community if you’ve ever seen this issue. 🔒We at Servebolt are committed to delivering outstanding #performance and #security for our customers. As part of this commitment, we have chosen to block Bytespider and ClaudeBot on both Servebolt CDN and Accelerated Domains. 🛡️ These bots were creating millions of unnecessary requests, resulting in higher power usage and a larger carbon footprint without providing any benefits. While our infrastructure can handle this load, taking proactive measures is essential for businesses relying on robust and reliable web hosting. Find out how this benefits our clients and reinforces our position as leaders in web hosting solutions. 🌐🚀 Read more https://servebo.lt/8oabw #WebSecurity #EnterpriseSolutions #Servebolt

What are the 4 "golden Signals" of monitoring? In the world of Observability, the 4 Golden Signals refer to arguably the 4 most important metrics that everyone must monitor in their systems. This term was coined by Google SRE. These metrics must be monitored regardless of the nature of your application - whether its a stateless Microservice or a Datastore. The 4 Golden Signals are: 1) Latency The Time taken to service a request. This is highly indicative of your user's experience. If your Frontend takes 3 seconds to load, a competitor with a 100ms loading time will take away all your customers. 2) Error Rate The % of all requests that fail because of issues on your end. For HTTP APIs, this often translates to the % of requests that end up returning 5XX errors to the users. For eg- If you're running a payments API with a very high error rate, ie, too many payment failures, you're probably loosing a lot of money and customers are frustrated with your failures. 3) Traffic How much load is your system serving. For eg-traffic for an HTTP API could be requests per second. For a MySQL DB this could be reads/sec & writes/sec. Traffic monitoring is also very helpful in early detection of DOS attacks. 4) Resource Saturation Helps you detect if any of the resources that power your app are starving. For eg- if your app consumes a lot of memory, is the server experiencing above 90% memory utilization? If yes, time to scale up or scale out.

Hey everybody! 👋 We continue our keep-you-updated series of posts, and today we've prepared for you some news that we found interesting. ❇️ Top AI features coming to Google’s Pixel 9 series ➜ Chat with Gemini Live Google is rolling out its own version of ChatGPT’s voice chat, called Gemini Live. The company says the feature enables natural conversation, so you can interrupt Gemini mid-sentence or pause a conversation and pick it up later. ➜ Make pictures using Pixel Studio A new Pixel Studio app lets you create illustrations using text prompts. The feature is partially powered by “an on-device diffusion model” and Google’s Imagen 3 cloud-based model. ➜ Pixel Screenshots Google’s new Pixel Screenshots feature is a little like Microsoft’s Recall feature that uses AI to track everything you do on your computer via constant screenshots, except it’s more of a manual affair ➜ Call Notes Google will use AI to create summaries of phone calls after you hang up. Google says this is helpful for pulling out details from a call, citing the example of being referred to a new barber shop and forgetting to write down the phone number. ❇️ Android 15 Beta 4 Now Available for Developers to Bring their Apps Up to Date ➜ Google has released the last scheduled Android 15 beta, which brings stable developer APIs and allows developers to update their apps and publish them on Google Play before non-beta users get access to the new Android version. ➜ Besides API stabilization, Android 15 introduces several behavior changes that should explicitly be tested for. These include changes to the "package stopped" state, support for 16 KB memory pages, and a new "private space" behavior. ❇️ Support for Microsoft .NET 6 Ends in November 2024 ➜ The long-term-support (LTS) version 6 of Microsoft .NET Framework is slated to go out of support on November 12, 2022. Microsoft recommends upgrading .NET 6 applications to .NET 8 to stay supported for the future. ➜ Microsoft .NET Framework version 6, released in November 2021, is approaching the end of its support date. According to Rahul Bhandari, program manager at Microsoft .NET team, customers using version 6 should move to .NET 8 to still receive official support and security patches. 📌 That's all for today, thank you for your attention! We hope you've read something new and interesting for yourself. We'll keep writing to keep you updated. Have a good day, everyone! #TechNews #AI #GooglePixel #Android15 #DotNet #AppDevelopment #TechUpdates #Google #Pixel9 #AIChat #AndroidBeta #Microsoft #TechTrends #Innovation #TechnologyNews #DeveloperUpdate #TechCommunity

🌐 From REST to GraphQL: The API Evolution Explained 🚀 The evolution from REST to GraphQL marks a significant shift in how APIs are designed and used. Here’s a detailed look at what this means for your business: 1️⃣ REST Overview: REST has been a cornerstone of web APIs, offering a straightforward way to access resources through fixed endpoints. However, it often leads to challenges like over-fetching(retrieving more data than needed) and under-fetching (needing multiple requests to get related data). 2️⃣ GraphQL Introduction: Created by Facebook and open-sourced in 2015, GraphQL addresses REST’s limitations. It allows clients to request precisely the data they need with a single query, reducing unnecessary data transfers and improving efficiency. 3️⃣ Key Differences: Flexibility: REST uses multiple endpoints, while GraphQL uses a single endpoint for various types of queries, tailored to the client’s needs. Efficiency: GraphQL minimizes the number of API calls by enabling clients to fetch related data in one request, unlike REST’s multiple server trips. Versioning: GraphQL avoids the need for multiple API versions by supporting field deprecation without breaking existing functionality. 4️⃣ Adoption & Future: Major companies like GitHub, Netflix, and PayPal have transitioned to GraphQL to streamline their API performance and enhance flexibility. The community around GraphQL is actively evolving, improving its tooling, security, and capabilities. Don’t miss out! Your app can use free APIs to access data freely and communicate with other software components. It enables you to “call” or “request” certain information. Some of Best Free APIs for Businesses: 1. Ipstack – Global IP Adress Dataset Tool 2. Zenserp API – Data Scrapping Tool 3. Weatherstack API – Real-Time Weather Data API 4. Numverify API – Phone Number Validation API You may use internal APIs to communicate with different microservices or give developers access to other API services, like Google APIs. APIs have changed the way we interact with the world, and they will continue to do so. The possibilities are limitless when it comes to public APIs.▶️ https://bit.ly/3RfcVyp - - - #api #developers #public #software #APILayer #Business
