The Envision team left the 4th Chief Patient Officers Summit feeling inspired by the tremendous initiatives from life sciences companies of various sizes, all aimed at incorporating patient perspectives into their strategies. Our very own Jasmine Patel, MPH, Senior Principal, Patient Advocacy, Strategic Consulting, delivered an insightful presentation that challenged colleagues to recognize caregivers as critical partners who shape a patient’s care journey. Caregivers, who oftentimes are family members or loved ones of patients, enter into caregiving roles unexpectedly and without formal training. They, too, require education, support tools, and connection to a community. Jasmine provided a thought-provoking analogy, “When you are on an airplane, the steward tells you to put your own mask on before helping others because you cannot help someone if you are not OK. This is the same concept for caregivers.” Thank you to the organizers and speakers for an inspiring couple of days. #CPOSummit #DGEvents #Advocacy #PatientsFirst #PatientInclusion

🌟 Patient Advocacy in Healthcare 🌟 In the world of healthcare, it's easy to get lost in the jargon, the appointments, and the treatments. For us patients, getting care not just a 'journey' we are on—it is a maze we are trying to navigate. Each day, I face challenges, setbacks, and uncertainties. It's not just about doctor's visits and prescriptions; it's about finding the strength to keep going, even when the path seems daunting. The complexities of healthcare are ever-present and often involve advocating for my needs. I've come to realize that I have a voice, and it's powerful. I've learned to ask questions, seek second opinions, and connect with others who share similar struggles. My experiences have taught me that the journey to wellness is a shared one. It's a partnership between patients, caregivers, community, forums, and healthcare providers. Together, we can make a difference by fostering understanding, empathy, and patient-centered care. Let's remember that we, as patients, our voices matter, our journeys inspire change, and our stories remind the world that healthcare is not just about science; it's about humanity. #PatientPerspective #HealthcareJourney #PatientAdvocacy #Resilience #PatientCenteredCare #PatientAdvocacy #EmpowerPatients #HealthcareJourney

My new carrier sharing partner and how they look at patient advocacy. Doctors and Patients Deserve When it comes to the relationship with their doctors, patients want more. More attention, more time, and more all-around effort regarding diagnosis and treatment options. As a DPC provider, you already do healthcare differently with a patient-centric model that allows you to spend more time with your patients and prioritize the patient-physician bond. At Clearwater Health, we also believe in a deeper doctor-patient relationship and can help you do more, by giving you extra time to provide your patients more personalized care to improve their health outcomes. ClearShare handles patient care when a medical event becomes a need that extends outside of your clinic’s typical care. We’ve got you covered.

It’s National Patient Advocacy Day. There’s plenty to celebrate, but today is also an indictment of the healthcare systems that require a whole subspecialty just to make them work for the people they’re supposed to serve. Understaffed hospitals, overworked providers, climbing costs, and endless red tape often leave patients overwhelmed and lost in the shuffle. Patient advocates step in to close the gaps that should never exist in the first place. It’s tedious, tiring, and critical work. National Patient Advocacy Day shines a spotlight on the crucial work these advocates do to support patients, influence health policy, and build a more equitable healthcare system. 📝 For those looking for training, check out the National Patient Advocate Foundation's Curriculum here: https://lnkd.in/gRQaafiB. 📢 For patients and caregivers looking to share their experiences with a broken system, share your story with our #client, No Patient Left Behind, here: https://lnkd.in/gT2nV6Wn. We hope that one day patients won’t need an advocate. Systems will be built for them, with them, from the beginning. Until then, we’re celebrating advocates who make it work. #NationalPatientAdvocacyDay

Today is National Patient Advocacy Day, and for me, it’s a day that brings up complex feelings about the state of healthcare. My journey into health advocacy wasn’t by accident. Advocacy can mean different things to different people. For some, it might be about fighting for a diagnosis, like my mom did for me when I was struggling with a rare, complex case of post-viral gastroparesis. For others, it could be about ensuring that loved ones are treated with dignity and hope as they age or standing up for patients in clinical trials who deserve respect, particularly when treatments fall short. There are moments in my life where advocacy made all the difference, like the NICU transport flight nurse who slowed down the process so I could be included in my newborn’s care during a critical moment. That small act of thoughtfulness saved me from some of the trauma of that day. Advocacy has the power to change the course of a life, an outcome, a system, or a policy. It can turn a devastating moment into a transformational one. Today, we honor everyone who’s out there closing the gaps—big and small—between what is and what should be. Onward. --- #patientadvocacy #patientengagement

Bridging Medical Humanities and Patient Advocacy In today's healthcare, merging #medicalhumanities and patient advocacy offers a potent blend for #holistic patient care. Medical humanities, through disciplines like literature and the arts, fosters #empathy and understanding of patients' experiences. Patient advocacy empowers individuals within the #healthcare system, ensuring their voices are heard and rights upheld. This integration encourages healthcare practitioners to see #patients as unique individuals, not just cases. It promotes #compassionate care and amplifies patient voices, fostering a culture of empathy and dignity.
