Prudential Financial has revealed they were a victim of a data breach. The breach happened on Feb 4 and was detected on Feb 5. The attackers were able to steal employee and contractor data, and includes name, address, data of birth, phone number, and social security number. Initially, the company reported 36,545 affected, but updated filings revealed the broader impact. Between 2019 and 2022, the costs associated with a cyber incident increased roughly 200%. Those numbers are only going up in 2024.
