✅First step Organize learning objectives from easiest to hardest using levels of complexity like in Blooms Taxonomy. When creating training or learning content, write down the things you want learners to be able to do at the end of each segment. Examples: “I can analyze different sales metrics to determine which strategies are most successful.” Or “I can explain the connections between tables, graphs and equations.” Think about the level of complexity, this is where you’ll spend more time (and probably repeated sessions) on. I have a giant whiteboard that I create webs for connected learning objectives. Once I have all the ideas out (all of the learning objectives) written I then work to organize easiest to hardest, making sure all the content goes in one session or pushing unrelated content into a different session.

Hannah R. Toney, Ed.D. writes "... a learning ecosystem is a deliberate and unique approach to gathering participants, systems, support, and content together to create a learning environment that supports the goals of both the organization and the individual. Like ecosystems that occur in nature, learning ecosystems are not limited by size. They may be organized around a small team, a department, or encompass an entire agency." Playful Pedagogue and Techno-Tinkerer | Researcher Working in GAI, Digital Media, and the Digital Humanities
Our Digital Platforms for Publishing course is taking a theoretical turn post-spring break, digging into the ways that the services we use exploit content for data. Going back to our opening question -- "what is publishing?" -- there's a thread of sentiment shared by some who long for a connection to their work in a tangible form. Very thankful for venues like The Teaching Press and Sheepshead Review, student-run operations that produce works that may be held and cherished. Next up: a hands-on, critical analysis of of our very own learning management platform, Canvas!
