Rising Star Award Winner 2024 | HALZAK - Elevate - Women in Tech podcast Host | 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝗻𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗱𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗲 𝘁𝗮𝗹𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗶𝗻𝗰𝗹𝘂𝘀𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝘁𝗲𝗰𝗵 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗮𝗻𝗶𝗲𝘀, | UN Women UK Delegate- 🇬🇧 🇺🇸
Are you attending Karren Brady's Women in Business & Tech Expo today and tomorrow but dreading the thought of networking? Reach out and let’s connect!! A number of the Elevate - Women in Tech community will be there and I know they would love to meet and network with new people. If like me the thought of networking at a conference fills you with fear here are a few tips I do to avoid that feeling: 𝗧𝗶𝗽 𝟭: 𝗦𝗲𝘁 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿𝘀𝗲𝗹𝗳 𝗮 𝗴𝗼𝗮𝗹. This might be to speak to x number of new people or to x number of exhibitors. 𝗧𝗶𝗽 𝟮: 𝗣𝗹𝗮𝗻 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝘁𝗶𝗺𝗲 Review the agenda. What talks/roundtables/networking opportunities are a must-attend. 𝗧𝗶𝗽 𝟯: 𝗦𝗽𝗲𝗮𝗸 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗰𝘂𝗿𝗿𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗻𝗲𝘁𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸/𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗺𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗴𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗽𝘀 Arrange to connect with people you already know. This makes it easier for me to dive in and usually, they are there with other people and (Tip 1 goal starts to happen!) 𝗧𝗶𝗽 𝟰: 𝗣𝗿𝗲𝗽𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗿𝗼 I have a short intro that helps me with my confidence. Think 60-second elevator pitch. 𝗧𝗶𝗽 𝟱: 𝗕𝗲 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗹𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗻 People really want to connect with genuine people and have an engaging conversation. So keep calm, be authentic, and listen/engage. It’s not all about you! 𝗧𝗶𝗽 𝟲: 𝗙𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗼𝘄 𝘂𝗽 Don't forget to follow up. Most people are on LinkedIn and I will usually pop a message on my way home or the next day. 𝗧𝗶𝗽 𝟳: 𝗘𝗻𝗷𝗼𝘆 𝗶𝘁! Above all else enjoy your time at the event! I hope these tips help and would love to hear any additional things that people do that helps with networking at events. Comment below 👇🏻 In Manchester tonight? I am hosting a meet-up panel event with a few limited spaces remaining to discuss "𝗛𝗼𝘄 𝘄𝗼𝗺𝗲𝗻 𝗰𝗮𝗻 𝗺𝗮𝗸𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗺𝗼𝘀𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗲𝗰𝗵 𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀" interesting joining DM me for details #networking #community #womenintech #womeninleadership #tech #HalzakElevateWiT https://lnkd.in/ejffhAfR

Last Wednesday, I had the pleasure of attending the "Rise of the Machines" AI Panel session, an event that explored the vast potential and challenges Artificial Intelligence poses. Hosted at the Isle of Man Chamber of Commerce's new Launchpad venue, this in-person gathering (online was also available) was particularly refreshing. Having attended numerous online seminars and labs as part of my study for the Level 6 CIM Specialist Award in AI Marketing, I've come to value the convenience and international perspective that online learning offers. However, the opportunity to meet and network face-to-face adds an incomparable layer of engagement and insight. The discussions highlighted the transformative power of AI and the need for a collaborative approach to harness its benefits responsibly. A special mention to the speakers Dan Thomas, Arron Clague BSc(Hons) MA MBCS, Brian Gallagher, and Chris Kissack for their insights, and Owen Cutajar for expertly moderating the session. A heartfelt thanks to BCS Isle of Man Section and all the organisers for a thought provoking evening. As we celebrate #InternationalWomensDay today, I thought it would be fitting to share the next event in the BCS Isle of Man Section series: Celebrating Women in Tech on the Isle of Man, set for March 27th. The event promises to foster discussions on diversity, mentorship, and leadership. With such a great lineup of speakers it is sure to be another inspiring event. #AI #ArtificialIntelligence #Technology #Innovation #Learning #Networking #IsleOfMan #BCS #WomenInTech #DiversityInTech #InvestInWomen

This international women’s day, we hosted women tech leaders for a frank and open conversation on the current state of women in tech, and the path towards an inclusive future. Some key takeaways for our student attendees: ✅ Networks and relationships open doors: participate in clubs, conferences, and hackathons. ✅ Academics are great, but build your soft skills too. ✅ When you interview, you also get to interview the company. You have agency in who you work for! #iwd2024
