In a sun-sational move, Solatio is gearing up to brighten Brazil's energy future with a massive 4 GW solar PV plant in Bom Princípio do Piauí. This powerhouse will not only be Brazil's largest solar plant, but also a green hydrogen hero, powering up an 11.4 GW hydrogen and ammonia facility in Parnaíba. With construction set to start in 2025 and an investment of BRL10.3bn, this project is shining a light on renewable energy's potential in Brazil. https://lnkd.in/esvSPPXZ "China installed more solar panels in 2023 than any other nation has built in total, adding to a massive renewable energy fleet that’s already leading the world by a wide margin. The country added 216.9 gigawatts of solar last year, blowing away its previous record of 87.4 gigawatts from 2022, the National Energy Administration said in a statement. That’s more than the entire fleet of 175.2 gigawatts in the US, the world’s second-biggest solar market, according to BloombergNEF estimates."

In our most recent Guideline newsletter, we shared two exciting renewable energy milestones: 1) In November, Aotearoa New Zealand’s first megawatts (MW) of solar power were sold on the wholesale market. The energy was generated at Lodestone Energy Limited's solar farm in Kaitaia. It’s the first farm big enough to connect to the country’s transmission system and the wholesale electricity market. 2) The share of electricity generated weekly by wind hit a record 13.3%. And, for the first time, the total wind generated in a week reached more than 100 gigawatts (GWh). China installed more solar panels in 2023 than any other nation has built in total, adding 216.9 gigawatts of solar last year (it added 87.4 gigawatts in 2022) The US has 175.2 gigawatts in total. This is meaningful as China is one of the world's biggest polluters with a big reliance on dirty coal power plants (70% of its power comes from coal). -National Energy Administration https://lnkd.in/eRUmWs_X
