Managing returns on Shopify could be a bit challenging especially when you are shipping across the border. ⚠️Defective or Damaged Products: If a product is defective or damaged, ask your supplier to send a replacement to your customer free of charge. Request pictures and proof from the customer to confirm the issue. This is crucial for verifying the defect and getting a replacement from your supplier. 🚚Always Use Tracked Shipping: Use tracked shipping for all orders, even if it costs more. This prevents losses from "undelivered" items and gives you proof of delivery. Customers often need to sign for the package, ensuring it has reached its destination. 🔄Handling Returns: For returns where the product is fine, ask the customer to ship it back to your address and cover the shipping fees. Refund the item cost minus the shipping. Use returned items for product photos, promo videos, or resell them. 💸Dropshipping from China: Managing returns can be tricky if you’re dropshipping from China. Instead of asking customers to ship items back to China, consider these options: Offer a partial refund or discount on their next purchase. If the product is faulty, provide a full refund and let the customer keep the item. Work closely with your supplier to ensure quality control and reduce the chances of sending faulty products. 💳Processing Refunds: Refunds can be issued manually via the Shopify dashboard in the order section.
