This piece dives into the cultural implications, personal anecdotes, and the reasons some people might harbor negative feelings towards this seemingly innocuous letter. Supporting buoyant communication with story, presence, connecting hearts, minds, bodies and imagination. Dynamic practices from the performing arts to the art of communication, for teams, leaders and individuals.
I often bang on about the power of moving away from communication styles that always prefer linear, logical verbosity - talking about life rather than from within. This short video speaks to the joy, richness, and vitality of facilitating different communication methods that play with metaphor and allow more poetic framing to emerge. #poetry #metaphor #meaningfulconversations #community #communication #sensemaking #nonlinear
'When we're brave enough to share our perspectives with one another it opens up a pathway for relationships to go deeper, for us to be seen...to enter the zone of mystery...and if we want to be seen we have to...see how magnificent and flawed and real we each are. We have to see others. That's the pathway in... Thanks Vicki Saunders (She/Her) from Coralus for your inspiring words. They mirror the experience we've had in our Shapeshifters conversations. WE need these facilitated spaces where we can speak 'poetry' to one another, have fun and deeply connect to surface the wisdom and insight that helps us to keep in the game of shapeshifting the systems, while transforming ourselves. Thanks to Linda Drosdowech for her spontaneous joy and her shapeshifting insights. Johanna de RuyterSophia van Ruth

From Ancient Greek εὔνοια… Eunoia is the shortest word in the English language containing all five vowels. It’s an elegant word which means beautiful thinking. Eunoia is simple, pure, and true. To me, this video perfectly captures the intersection of magic and beauty! Gary Ryan Blair Enjoy This? Share it with your network and follow me for more good ideas. It's more important to understand what is going on for people than to judge. I believe to help people through difficulties giving them time to explain their world is far more important. inspired by Ted Lasso (Walt Whitman -really) https://lnkd.in/e93KZscX please like, share, be curious and check out my website and blogs!

If you’ve spent more than a few hours with me, chances are you know I LOVE to read. Even as a kid, my sister and I would get in trouble for reading too much (oops, we read right through our chores 😮💨). Those moments, lost in stories, shaped my love for books and their power to transport us to different worlds. One of my favorite books is 𝘈 𝘎𝘦𝘯𝘵𝘭𝘦𝘮𝘢𝘯 𝘪𝘯 𝘔𝘰𝘴𝘤𝘰𝘸. In this recent interview with the author (he has a new book for us to read!), he reflects on the power of fiction… and I can't help but think of how tied to Peoplehood’s mission it is: 🌟 “I believe we all have the capacity to tell intricate stories and through observation, through the exploration of our own feelings through the conversations we have with strangers, we can access humanity at a level that can allow us to build great narratives regardless of our past. 🌟 ”Writing about different people forces me to try to imagine what would it be like to be in that situation — what would my vocabulary be, what would my morals be, how would I view the world? So, you try to teach yourself through short stories, taking from different perspectives on how to look at the world slightly differently, and then over time it starts to become second nature. 🌟 “Giving yourself over to the character and seeing the world as it unfolds for them, but taking it very personally, opens the door to this extraordinary dynamic where obviously empathy grows out of that. Suddenly, we take the feelings of others more seriously. Our ability to imagine ourselves in experiences that we have not had adds to both empathy and adventure and curiosity. This is really the great power of the novel — it allows us to enter the world from new angles, see experiences we have not witnessed ourselves, and imagine them in a very personal way in a way that opens both our heart and our mind.” Through story, we can make the world more empathetic and human.

International Public Speaking Coach. TEDx Coach. Four #1 Amazon Bestselling Books. Eight National Public Speaking Titles. Hiking. Rugby. Star Wars. Cats. (Not necessarily in that order).
Why do you even want to deliver a speech? I know that might seem like an obvious question to you, but many obvious questions obscure unclear answers. Because I know you've certainly sat in the audience and after a speech said to yourself "what was the point of that?". How many times do you think YOUR audiences have asked that about your speeches? If you get the purpose of your speech wrong, it can have dire consequences, even if you deliver it well and it has some decent content in it. The purpose of a speech boils down to three options. Choose wisely. Learn what these three purposes are by clicking the video below. #publicspeaking #speeches #presentationskills
