As we step into a new year filled with optimism and high expectations, I wish to extend a simple but invaluable piece of counsel, particularly for fellow professionals: "Find ways to get things done." Instead of lingering excessively on problems that may arise, let us focus on devising solutions to rectify any challenges. In the heat of the moment, even when it seems like the company's roof is collapsing upon us, it is crucial to maintain composure and actively seek avenues to resolve the issues at hand. Here's to a year ahead that is both beautiful and fulfilling! I raise a toast 🥂, wishing all of us success in our endeavors. But here's what I've learned: Our value extends far beyond our professional accolades. 💖 It's not about reaching the next milestone or climbing the corporate ladder. It's about recognizing our inherent worthiness, regardless of our job title or salary. If you've ever felt like your worth was tied to your career success, know that you're not alone. But also know that your worthiness is not determined by external measures. You are enough, just as you are. Let's shift the narrative and embrace the journey of self-discovery and self-love. Because true fulfillment comes from recognizing our inherent value, independent of our career accomplishments. 💫 Have you ever felt pressure to equate your worth with your career success? How do you remind yourself of your inherent value outside of work?

Today, I had an enlightening breakfast conversation with a former Chief Operating Officer of a multi-billion-dollar company. Within the first five minutes he shared a perspective about his (incredible, IMHO) career: “Everything is finite.” – the company, the products, the clients, everything he had helped to build, had already largely changed, in just a handful of years. Our discussion revolved around a fundamental question: What truly matters throughout one's career? Is it the products crafted, the customers influenced, or the companies built? Our shared conclusion by the end of the conversation: what truly endures are the wisdom, knowledge, and character imparted to those you work alongside and (in your family life) the children you nurture. It's the legacy we leave through our impact on others that stands the test of time. What do you believe truly matters in the scope of a career? Does this conclusion under-value the importance of products, services, client relationships and organizations we build during our careers? I’d love to hear your thoughts and experiences.
