Exciting #ERAFamily news as airline Luxair signs a firm order with manufacturer member Embraer for two E195-E2 aircraft. Luxair now has a total of six E195-E2s on order, with the first aircraft delivery from their 2023 order scheduled to enter service in early 2026. These efficient regional aircraft will work alongside the airline's existing and incoming narrow-body aircraft fleet, providing flexibility for the carrier. Congratulations to our members on this continued successful partnership!

It's Throwback Thursday!! Last week, American Airlines placed an order for up to 133 E175 aircraft (90 firm + 43 purchase rights)! These will add to the already ~700+ units currently in service across the World. This is one of the biggest standalone orders in our company history. Did you know that this same aircraft is also very popular in Africa? There are currently 15 E175 jets flying, or on order, on the African continent with a typical 72-seats configuration in double class or 88-seats in single class. The E175 is a fuel efficient and reliable modern jet aircraft, with no middle seat and a comfortable cabin. Just recently we delivered the 1st or 3 brand-new E175s to our friends at Overland Airways and their neighbors Air Peace will be receiving 5 brand-new aircraft in the future. LOT Polish Airlines has taken delivery of its first Embraer E195-E2, three months after signing a deal to expand its regional fleet with three of the type.  The announcement was made on August 1, 2024. According to Embraer, LOT is adding the E2 to their fleet in order to enhance operational flexibility and accommodate network expansion.  Embraer E195-E2 is the first of the three jets to be leased through Azorra. Airlines cut costs on short-haul flights by flying smaller aircraft like the Embraer 170 and not paying for jetbridges, using instead buses and stairs. I don't like it. It's time and energy consuming, even if on electric buses. But hey, they've got to cut costs to sell cheaper fares. Then two elderly gentlemen in their 80s/90s decide to fly the route. They cannot climb stairs. So the airline has to arrange for this high-loader to lift them up into the cabin. Extraordinary costs. I wonder if the two gentlemen were charged for the special service. #airport #safari

O regulador europeu de segurança aérea ordenou inspeções aos motores do A350 da Airbus, depois de um incêndio ter deflagrado durante um voo da Cathay Pacific, avanca a Reuters. O objetivo é evitar novos incidentes, sendo que a medida foi tomada depois da ASEA ter consultado as autoridades reguladoras e os investigadores de acidentes em Hong Kong, onde está sediada a Cathay, bem como a Airbus e o fornecedor de motores Rolls-Royce. A medida afeta o maior dos dois modelos de A350 bimotor, o A350-1000, que representa 15% da frota de A350, ou seja, 86 aviões. Já o A350-900, mais pequeno e muito vendido, não é afetado.
