🔍 London Pledge and Social Workers - 3 Week Notice Period As per the London Pledge, locum social workers are required to give a 3-week notice period. This ensures continuity in the vital services we provide. However, Local Authorities are not required to give any notice when ending a locum contract. 🤔 Why is there a disparity in these notice period requirements? Shouldn't there be mutual fairness that dictates both parties adhere to similar standards? I am not questioning the system, it's just something I do not understand. I can't tell you how many times I have had a locum Social Worker who has smashed their caseload but served a week or even a day's notice because their position has been filled permanently. 🙇♂️ Not sure if anyone shares my opinion, I know permanent workers are vital for the stability of a service, but locum workers are also essential to relieve the immediate stress of already high caseloads. Being a Property Manager means wearing many hats. Some days, you spend hours behind a desk compiling reports and handling complaints. Other days, you’re out in the community with a mop and broom, cleaning up common areas. You might find yourself picking up trash or getting on your hands and knees to make an apartment sparkle a little more before todays move in.
