👋Founders, Discrepancy AI is raising our pre-seed round. I found this guide on raising seed fundraising by Geoff Ralston of Y Combinator Incredibly useful. Here is part 1 of my summary if you don't have time to read the full thing (I recommend you do): 1️⃣ Need for Funds: Startups require external funding for setup, growth, hiring key staff, marketing, and to gain a competitive edge. 2️⃣ When to Raise?: The right time to secure funds is when there's a compelling story, a convincing team, a product-market fit, and rapid user adoption. 3️⃣ How Much to Raise?: Aim to fundraise the amount required to achieve profitability, while avoiding more than 25% dilution. 4️⃣ Multiple Plan Approach: Formulate feasible plans, accounting for different fundraising outcomes and growth scenarios. 5️⃣ Financing Options: Startups typically resort to initial seed rounds, structured as convertible debt or simple agreements for future equity (safes.) 6️⃣ Valuation: Although no formula dictates a startup’s worth, it's often decided by investor’s perceived value of the company's future growth potential. 7️⃣ Valuation Range: Typical seed valuations range between $2mm-$10mm. The goal isn’t just to aim for the highest valuation, but one that offers a win-win for you and the investor. Remember, fundraising can be tough, but it's instrumental in setting your business up for success!🚀 For those that don't know me. I'm Lisen the founder of Discrepancy AI a document review and analysis platform. https://discrepancyai.com/ Part 2 in the comments.

One of the biggest challenges in fundraising is trying to raise money when all you have is an idea. Or, as we call it in the investment world: pre-product, pre-revenue fundraising. But, AI has changed the game. We’re now seeing a rise in seed funding for startups that are, at times, even pre-website. If you’ve read my article about the death of the pitch deck template, you’ll know that I’ve been preaching for founders to focus their pitch on process transformation – not their product. Not even if it’s AI. Yep, you heard me right. Here are four pitching principles that AI start-ups should follow and the reason for which AI shouldn't be the focus of your pitch. Enjoy! #ai #fundraising #tech #pitchdeck #vc #startup #storytelling #pitch #seed

As startup founders, fundraising always feels daunting (because in more than 99% cases it is)! It does not matter whether it’s your 1st time or 10th time. I had a long chat about early stage fund-raising in the current (somewhat crazy for AI) environment with Brian Contreras from Inc. Magazine and he has done a great job putting it all together. How Did Our AI Startup Navigate Pre-Seed Fundraising Challenges? Answers: https://lnkd.in/g6WQMR7a #Fundraising #AIstartup #EntrepreneurJourney #PreSeed #VentureCapital Hey, everyone! 🌟 I wanted to share some insider insights from our journey while fundraising for our AI startup. If you're curious about the process, this might resonate with you! We started dabbling with agentic AI last winter, fueled by some intriguing academic research (hit me up for links if you're into LLM orchestration!). As a serial entrepreneur with a couple of exits under my belt, I dove into this project with heightened excitement. Here’s a quick rundown: Jan ~ Mar: Research - It all started as a casual weekend project with a friend who eventually came aboard as our lead SWE. The market buzzed, and we felt confident our tech could be a game-changer! March ~ April: Market Awakening - After Devin raised an impressive $20m in pre-seed funding, the floodgates opened for us! Coffee meetings with angels revealed strong interest. ☕️ April ~ May: YC S24 (Rejection) - With my optimism high, I applied to YC as a solo founder. Unfortunately, I faced rejection (no...
