During the Summit of pharma industry association (SFEE) I had the honor to participate as speaker at the round table “Paving the way for investments in the biopharma industry in Greece, Opportunities & Challenges." Co-participants of this round table were Zoe Rapti, deputy minister of Development, Simos Simeonidis, PhD, MBA , managing partner CEO & CIO Kos Biotechnology partners, USA, Aristos Doxiadis, partner, Big Pi Ventures, Greece, Achilleas Gravanis, professor of pharmacology, medical school, University of Creta, Greece. I had the opportunity to present the investment of Boehringer Ingelheim in Greece. The country belongs to European Union in a very important Geostrategic position, has facilities in transports and technology. Greece also has highly educated personnel and abundancy in talents. Furthermore, in recent years Greece process no surprises. So, our investments were recognized by the government and the visit of Prime minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis at our ground ceremony for the new plant facilities reveals the awareness and support. These are elements of a constant pro investment environment. And these are the pro-innovation elements for Europe as well. Europe has to become more attractive to innovation if new European pharma package comes into action as it leads to reduction of patent protection. #SaxoCell proudly acts as partner of Wirtschaftsförderung Sachsen GmbH for this year’s #lifescience #business initiation trip to #Austria from 24 to 27 September 2024. Austria has a research-intensive and dynamically growing life sciences scene, which has developed into a top international player both scientifically and economically. Its #pharmaceutical and #medical technology sector is booming. It therefore offers many starting points for #cooperation with #Saxon companies. The trip, which will take participants to #Vienna in particular, is aimed at Saxon companies and research institutions that are active in the field of life sciences, including in the areas of digitalisation in the healthcare sector / e-health and diagnostics. Purpose of the trip is to engage in an intensive dialogue with Austrian companies and institutions in order to identify potential for cooperation and sales by Saxon life sciences players in Austria and to stimulate the transfer of ideas and knowledge between the two regions. Organised round tables and company visits will give the Saxon participants an in-depth insight into the Austrian life sciences market.
